Which tennis player do you play tennis like?

Slightly more complicated than that. What if the ball is dipping below the net, not easy to punch a volley then. What if you are trying to play a drop volley because you see your opponent is way behind the baseline or on his/her heels?
If the ball is dipping below the net, you tilt the racket face upwards and your best bet is probably a drop volley. Just close the racket face more and don't punch for drop volleys.

DelPo FH
Gasquet-like BH
Sampras Volleys
Andy Murray 100 times worse 2nd serve
Raonic Overhead
Nishikori court coverage
and just a lot of ball rolling/blasting
Great returns but MY playing style.

Serve-- Strongest shot, very good pace/variety, bails me out a lot.
Forehand-- streakier, but can hit it anywhere, pretty good spin.
Backhand(2h)-- good pace and consistency, can catch opponents off guard with it, also can hit a slice when in defensive situations that cuts through the court decently.
Volleys-- Strong, although I can sometimes try to do too much with it.
Returns-- Streaky.
Movement-- Good for my size, speed is very good, quickness above average, but not on the level of my speed once I start moving.

Also tend to start slow and comeback a fair amount. Ideas for comparisons?

yeah that's a good parallel, I can see the Ancic similarity. (I was mostly saying Djokovic to mess with you). But your BH does remind me of Nalbandian's.
I know I don't like the Djoker style but thanks on the backhand haha

Yep. Steffi Graf. Big serve. Slice backhands due to playing on Perth grass.
I can hit over OHBH it when pushed, should do it more.

Honestly though, lazy Krajicek/Stich with Marc Rosset often loopy forehand.
Solid serve at 190cms, good mobility for 95kgs, always looking to come in on anything around service line & finish with good volleys & keep points short.
Always keep my opponents running for wide balls while I put ball in other empty court.
My groundstrokes & general flexibility/fitness are the issues that need attention.
Groundstrokes may be helped by new purchase of 4 x Babolat AeroProDrives.
Won't play with 4 at once like Star Wars' Genereal Grievous.

Fun thread, interesting to read everyone's styles and I appreciate some of the humor and humility about our weaknesses. So here goes:

Serve-- Solid pace version of "spin it in" on 1st. 2nd- somewhere between a twist/kick (when I get it right it leaps great, but when I don't it's a sitter.) In both cases I'm better at hitting the right side of the box, whereas I struggle to go out wide serving to Deuce court...strange for a right-hander.

Forehand-- good pace but with lots of spin. DTL is my specialty and I win most FH points that way.

Backhand(1H)-- Wawrinka-esque in driving it more than spinning it (ala Gasquet.) When I hit it right I can get that ATP boom. I'm great at DTL and middle of court but struggle with cross court. I probably win most points with DTL winners, but I lose way more x-court exchanges than I should. Slice- very good and low when it's on.

Volleys-- Above average but I rarely come to net. But extremely good at half-volleys.

Returns-- Very aggressive. I hit alot of winners but often alot of errors going for broke. I have trouble with heavy spin serves to my 1HBH.

Movement-- At 42 I still can cover the court very well. "How on Earth did you get to that?" is still something I hear regularly. My footwork is naturally very good.

Overheads-- The one area where I sometimes get lazy and end up too far away or overrunning the ball.

Lobs-- Terrible. Usually leave them very short giving opponent an easy put-away. So instead I use...

Passing shots-- Very good, even on the run. I win alot of points this way.

Dropshots-- My form is not great. When I use them I often get winners because the other guy is way off the court, but my dropshots are usually pretty ugly, not enough spin, too high etc.

Sounds to me like Jack Sock with a one hander.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO now i need to go to change my technique. I actually always thought a bit of an ancic-like forehand.
Your backswing his huge. Maybe you'd be better off with a more compact take back. Good backhand tho. Looks like Nishikoris

I'd bet the highest level of tennis from all OPs on TT is probably what all pros possessed...before they turned 12 years old.

I believe it is easier and better to copy Andy Murray among the top 4. Feds FH is more wristy hence cannot suit everyone if they do not have strong wrist. Also his FH is powerful because of timing not by mechanics. To hit like Nadal, one needs crazy arm power for generating such a FH Spin. Djokovic is close to Murray but someone he loses balance in most of his shorts.

Copying Murray is the best. I am a counter puncher, so best is to observe Andy.

Murray's serve motion sucks. And I don't think Federer uses wrist on most forehand shots. That's an illusion.

IMO Fed is the best to copy. Just not his backhand.

I am not talking about Murray's serve motion. Pin point serve is difficult to execute. But it does not suck that bad though. Even Nadal has said sometime back he admired Murray's serve motion and wished he had one like him.
Rest all his game is very plain and simple.

Hard to say, I guess something like a less consistent Murray who plays as risky as Safin and approaches the net as often as Federer. One major difference is that my biggest weakness is hitting the easiest shots in the game, such as smashing a lob that my opponent hit way too short. I miss those shots more often than tweeners.

Mentally I'm not even close to Murray. He cares a lot more about winning / losing than me (makes sense) and doesn't usually smile when his opponent hits an amazing winner.

well ...I m only 23 years old and played football all my life ..switched to tenis just for 2 years now,but I don t have the time to play alot and none of my friends know how to play tenis ,so yeah limited options...but my 1handed bh is by far my best shot, probably because I watched stans alot and I learn pretty quick after I watch something enough times..overall my bh is closest looking to something like feds or gasquets ,even though I wanna learn to hit it like stan..overall the rest of my game is closest to kei ,I try to hit the ball early and explode in open space and I have pretty quick footwork probably because of the football experience I have ,and also a very very **** serve .
