OK, this is actually a serious question. Federer has undoubtedly improved from 2002 to 2006. I am sure his fans will all agree.
As for Djokovic, upon close scrutiny of his matches in 2011 as well as in 2024, I can confidently say that he has improved. His forehand is as good as it's ever been, his serves are a lot better, his net game is also much better and he has had 13 more years of training and experience. The reason why he is not on another 43-match winning streak is due to the heightened level of competition. 2011 was arguably one of the weakest years in the Open Era, which is why Djokovic was able to win so much, giving rise to the myth that Novak was unbeatable in 2011. But 2024 exposed that.
Now, I am definitely not saying all of this just to hype up Sinner's competition. I am trying to be as objective as possible, devoid of any biases.

So who do you think underwent the greatest improvement, Federer from 2002 to 2006 or Djokovic from 2011 to 2024?
You can answer seriously.

I am talking purely in terms of LEVEL, not achievements. Let's face it, the current era is considerably weaker than the 2011-2016 era.
If Djokovic from the 2011-2016 era were playing in the current era, he would have completed the Calendar Slam every year from 2019-2023.
2015 Djokovic defeated ROGER FEDERER in a Wimbledon final in 4. The same Federer who played masterclass tennis to destroy prime Andy Murray in the previous round. Whereas 2023 Djokovic lost to a 20-year-old Alcaraz who has only participated in 4 grass tournaments in his career so far. 2021 Djokovic got straight-setted by Daniil Medvedev, but 2011 Djokovic dismantled prime Nadal at the USO.
There is no comparison.
Anyone saying that Djokovic from 2020-2023 is as good as himself from 2011-2016 is just as wrong as saying Federer from 2004-2007 is as good as his 2021 version
Oh actually you said this. Maybe you are not trolling all the time.

I specifically referred to time periods BEFORE 2024. Read it more carefully. Yes, Djokovic did decline considerably in the 2017-2023 period compared to his 2011 level, but then, suddenly, in the holy yer of 2024, he improved his level significantly, becoming even better than he was in 2011.
Djokovic 2024 > Djokovic 2011 >>> 2017-2023

What? Nadal just came off his best year in 2010, and got better in 2011 if not for Djokovic. Nadal would've won 3 slams, and only lost because of Djoko. Federer was still in fine form and would've beat Djoko twice in slams. To me, 2011 was the year all Big 3 were at their finest.

2011 was when Djokovic hit his groundstrokes the hardest. He said so himself that he held back physically after AO '12.

Federer from '04 to '05 went from having a non-existent backhand to an existent one, which is an unquantifiable leap as getting something from nothing should be impossible, so I'll give it to him.

LOL Nadal in 2011 was just a very boring pusher with zero aggression nor attacking tennis. He could not attack to save his life. Just running around defending, defending, defending, until the audience falls asleep.
There's no glory is beating him.

And Federer is arguably the mentally weakest athlete of the 21st century, and he has a very short lifespan, due to which he started declining at the age of 26 (according to many Fedfans). No glory in beating him in 2011 either.
Tsonga had just one good tournament at Wimbledon in 2011 (and even then, could not even reach the final).
Berdych is slamless. Murray had not even matured yet.

2024 is much stronger. You have Djokovic, Medvedev, Alcaraz and Sinner

That was peak Nadal, who won 2 WB's, 1 AO & 1 US. There had been, or has been a defender like that, ever. You should have seen the amazement on Federer's, and Djokovic's, faces when the balls kept coming back.

It was one hell of a defense, one of a kind.

They keep repeating that myth: Nadal in 2011, in the only tournaments where his level was higher than the previous season was in IW and Miami.
Only there.
