I thought Queen's was generally considered the more prestigious tournament, but Halle looks more stacked this year. An Alcaraz-Rune final at Queen's would be really interesting, but that might be wishful thinking.

Very even this year. During the whole Federer era Halle was the main tournament of the two, but before that it was Queen's. I guess we have to wait what the new development will be. Hard to tell if Djokovic continues to skip any grasscourt preparations and Next Gen continues not really caring about that part of the season at all.

I‘d vote “I’m equally interested in both”

more interested in halle, coz wanna see will it happen again at wimby, i.e. the winner of halle losing in first round of wimby

I think Murray needs to reach the semifinals in Queens to be one of the 32 players seeded for Wimbledon and not rely on a few absences from his colleagues.
Will he get it?
:cautious:

Queen's. Still hoping for the Alcaraz-Rune final that should have happened at RG. That's highly unlikely since neither can play on grass.

The RG final should have been Van Assche/Fils (Fils has the age advantage by 32 days but that's not so great an gap that OLD Assche had no chance of turning back the clock) v Mpetshi Perricard/Mededovic.

Wait doesn’t UK tax the amount of time u spend in it and make money ? Why are so many players spending extra weeks in the UK? ^^^

Queens - the first four seeds are compelling for me. In Halle, I want to watch only Hubie on grass amongst the top 9 seeds listed in the OP.

They’re both good tournaments and it’s always good to see the players on grass again.

They get the players into form for grass and they give the younger generation more experience on the surface which they all need. There have been great matches at both venues.

I have been watching the grass season and almost all of them play like they are on HC

No adjustments whatsoever . Why do we even waste money having these courts now ??

Ultimate crap of an era

Halle is clearly more relevant, for three reasons:

1) This year we've been gifted with a massive blockbuster in the R32:

2) It is the most important grass tournament in the ATP calendar and the most significant grass tournament in the GOAT debate.
10 > 0, I'm so sorry Djokodal fans.

3) Halle cakes are the most delicious, aren't they?

That being said I voted Queen's as it seems more interesting anyway.

I agree with your post.

It really is sad how the technology has brought about changes to the game that many are so against.

I think one of the challenges I so admired was how a player like Borg back in the day could adjust his game from clay to grass in such a short time. Please correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t they increase the time between the French and Wimbledon to give players more time to adjust? If the courts are playing more similar these days, who needs more time?

I think as fans, we have accept the changes and hope for some good tennis. That’s about what we are left with these days.

They added an extra week.

At USO, players used to do the back to back days BO5 for the semis and finals . Not anymore .

The current TikTok gen is too bad even with all of these advantages , better racket, better comfort in travel and accommodation , etc

All they can do is tell they cannot compete with the big 3 but one of their other next gen May have a chance.

Obviously I'm biased in favour of Queen's because I've been watching it for years as the ideal start to the grasscourt season and obvious prelude to Wimbledon. The 2 events have always gone hand in hand and played just a few miles from each other.

Bias apart, I've never quite taken to Halle. The court always seems to be in shadow because of the roof and it just looks too dark to me.

Queen's easily. Murray will probably shake things up, the top 4 are fun to watch, and I love the setting. It gives a great old school, relaxed vibe.

Yes the shadows at Halle do make it hard to see what's going on. It looks a cool arena to be at though.

The problem is both these tournaments play fast and the players then go to Wimbledon where the grass is snail slow. Wimbledon should be playing identical to Halle.
