i really think 2021 RG will be so important for rafa
if rafa wins 2021 RG , nadal surpass fed 's 20 slam
anyway what i curious about is who can beat nadal in 2021 RG ?
i think thiem has best chance
second is probably novak djokovic

Only himself :D

honestly skypad i cant see anyone other than djoker doing it and it's hard to give him any more than a very slim chance as well after last year's clock cleaning

rafas a safe bet in paris again

I think it all depends on his form really. If he's playing good again, someone will have to play the match of their life to beat him. If he's in poor form, at least 3-4 people would be able to take him down.

Nadal hasn't won RG 3 out of the last 16 years, which is still a 19% loss rate. If he is out of form (somehow), then there is a chance someone like Djokovic, Thiem, Tsitsipas et al can break in.

But to be honest, only an injury can stop Nadal....which even as non-fan I don't want that to happen to him

yeah. dal usually comes to the party though. hopefully he's fully fit and ready

Djokovic will try to come up with something, I'm 100% sure that his priority (besides having the slam record) is still beating Nadal in a RG final. That said it's still hard to see how he could do it after the devastating loss last year, but it's only him who has any chance at all.

Thiem, the choker he is will never beat even a severely injured Nadal in a RG final, that should be obvious at this point. So yeah, Djokovic has like 5% chance, rest none.

Barring a serious injury (not ao2021 nolenjury) or a 2nd decline (2015-16 alike), no player would stop nadal at french open this year.

No one has ever won two Roland Garros titles within 7 months - so, Nadal might be beaten:)

But, I’m breaking my piggy bank to bet on him vs the field.

Karats. He has the necessary ingredients: power, clutch and on-the-rise ball striking, so should be able to handle the spin. I think the key is he needs to face Nads in a warm-up tournament first because he hasn’t encountered that level before.

Everyone else is scarred and improbable. At least Karats isn’t scarred yet.

Thiem has a chance. I don't see Djokovic beating him on clay, Tsitsipas will struggle Bo5, maybe Bo3 he can. Zverev against Nadal at a slam? Lol. I guess we have to see how Karatsev 2.0 does on clay.

But only Thiem has a realistic chance, would have liked to see their 2019 match without him playing 2 days in a row. The first two sets were good.

Karatsev

It sounds ridiculous, but it has to be Schwartzman. The only player from the field who has the needed physical+mental strength balance AND, what is even more important, whom Nadal can face before Semi Final.

I think the most likely scenario in which Nadal loses is an early to mid round shock defeat to a player that has the match of his life. I think if he's healthy and makes it the latter rounds it's game over for everyone else

I still wonder if we could've had a potential 3rd Nadal 5 setter in 2018 if the rain hadn't come in the 2nd set.

Djokovic, Thiem, Zverev, Tsitsipas... Lots of players can in these terrible new conditions.
Пожалуйста, please don't start downplaying Nadal all the way to RG. You did that last year relentlessly, and look what happened. It doesn't matter what conditions there are, Roland Garros is Roland Garros and there Nadal rules. The only way he's going to lose is, if someone does a Soderling pre-QF, or if he's genuinely injured (not a BS injury, i mean a real one).
