Who can disrupt SinCaraz rule over the ATP in the nearby future

Well it looks like that history repeats itself, between 2005-2010 we had Fedal duopoly. An absolute domination of two players, literally no player coould hold a candle to them, until 2011 when Djokovic magically improved.
From 2013 to 2019 Fed, Wawrinka , Murray snatched few slams, but Djokovic and Nadal more or less dominated. Players who were supposed to stop those 2 , according to media and some tennis pundits ( Zed, Citybus, Ruud etc) failed miserably, at least Thiem at times was a man to beat. And from late 2023 on we have SinCaraz duopoly who are borderline unbeatable across all surfaces as results have shown, and points distribution speak for itself.
Sinner 12k
Carlos 8.6 k
Zed 6.3 k
Fritz 5k
Draper 4.6 k
Novaxx 4 .1k
As you can see the gap between second and third place is absolutely massive, and I do not see any player capable of posing a significant threat to Sinner nor Carlos.
Fonseca has worse movement, a major weakness which will be inevitably exploited by SinCaraz just ask Fritz.
Draper is the most overrated player on the tour, does well at Bo3, sucks big time ( at least for now) at slams, guy was trashed by 37 yo Cilic in 4 sets , plus stamina or lack thereof is a major issue.
Fritz, exactly the same weakness Fonseca has, slightly worse movement.
Zed- this guy should have won at least a slam or two by now, considering his immense talent, ATG BH, serve , good stamina and movement. But he is way too passive and notorious choker. He can still pose a threat to anyone in QF , SF, 4R of slams as long as it is not a final where he folds.
Tsitsipas is cooked.
To sum it up, i do not think that there is someone who can handle these two. Players who i named have a major weakness, which will get immediately exploited by SinCaraz.
I ll be glad for your insights.

I agree with every single word in your comment. No one can challenge them at the moment. The two will volture most (if not all) the slams in the next 3-4 years if they stay fit.

No one consistently right now. I know it doesn't really seem possible, but they are human and "off day" v. "hot player" - could possibly take one of them out so it's not both in the final (like we just near-experienced with Dimitrov and Fognini). But, again, that's just the small exception. There's no one who can consistently stop either one and certainly not both.

Fonseca, Engel, and Ivanov might all be very good picks for the future, but Fonseca is the only one who has even a chance of being a threat in the nearby future, and even he probably needs at least another year before he's likely to be a serious threat. With the right draw, perhaps he can make (say) the QF of the 2025 US Open, but it's really unlikely that he'll challenge Alcaraz, let alone Sinner, so soon.

Quarters for Fonseca at this stage is being very generous.

He'll probably go out in Round 3 when someone can neutralize his powerful ground game properly and he'll become an Unforced Error machine.

He's good but not as good as people are hyping him up to be.

What are Fonseca's chances of being one of the 32 seeds for the US Open?

Too hard to predict. Lets get back to history for some clues.

Among hewitt, roddick, haas , nalbandian, fed nobody could have predicted how Fed would dominate. When Nadal burst into scene in 2005 it was known he was special.
Djokovic had made some name by 2006 and definitely by 2007. But he started the dominance from 2011.

Murray was equally promising but never reached the heights.

Ok. Next zverev, thiem, tipsy, meddy, anderson, matteo never reached that level.

Finally sinner and alcaraz. But all good things come to an end..
So one or two teenagers right now may rise. Fils/fonseca/mensik are my top choices

QF wasn't a prediction! It was a best-case scenario. As he'll probably be non-seeded it's actually most likely he'll go out in R1 or R2.

Those dudes will go the way of a hampered Zverev.

Fonseca can be neutralized too easily by better talent - his backhand is forgettable. His serve returns are a nightmare (he can't decide where to stand), and his inconsistency is concerning. There's good chances for him to win big matches but not string enough wins together for a major.

Not sure Fils can even play well again after that back issue (I'm sure he'll come back too early and re-injure it).

Mensik has a cap on him - it came and went in Miami in case you missed it.

At the moment nobody. At some point maybe: (Fonseca has firepower, sure, and I’m all for the Brazilian passion. His movement, unless improved, will get exploited and he won’t be sustainable hitting winner vs. Sinncaraz.)

Fils, Draper, Mensik, Paul, Korda, (& maybe Fritz vs. Carlos on hard)

Fils: has to get healthy and fix shot tolerance

Draper: Is getting there but has movement & stamina limitations unless he can shorten points or use the net

Mensik: Very young but big serve, great movement & counterpunching (Cobolli trashed em at W, though)

Paul: has to get healthy but has top shelf athleticism to challenge them and all court, versatile enough but lacks firepower

Korda: IF he can get healthy and a bit tougher, he could challenge them in faster surfaces imo.

Shelton/Fils/Fonseca/Mensik are the only ones I see at the moment. The rest aint worth a hoot
Fils was gaining some momentum before the French Open. Still hadn't had a truly deep Slam run, but things were aligning for a "level jump" from where he was at. His injury is pretty serious. I hope once he's healed he can get back to form relatively quickly, and avoid further injury. Really unfortunate. I think given the timeline of a stress fracture, he'll miss the summer hard court season. Maybe that's for the best. I could see a player trying to hurry back to make the final Slam of the year. But, he doesn't seem like he'd be in range to even try that. If he did, he could do little training or warm up tourneys. He should just set his sights on 2026. If he can play in the fall to get match reps in, that would be cool.

Fonseca is still my guy. He can become a Sinner or a Shapovalov, but I back him to become a serious contender.

For the youngsters my hunch is still Fonseca, fits the elite pattern best. So much has to go right though...

Among the peers Draper seems to be best positioned. I don't give much credit to specific losses and try to figure out underlying strength and potential. Stamina can be improved with hard work, height not.

Hypeseca isn't really a high bar.

Honestly, as a Carlitos fan, can only see Draper, Musetti or Shelton. Even if just going by present numbers and progression (but also by eye test and perceived "challenge" level in h2h). Though I can see a ceiling for all of them and they'll definitely still need to work to even get there regardless. Their chances will always be limited, the kind of Wawrinka and Murray at best. Same to a lesser extent to older guys Meddy, Zverev, Fritz etc... They may steal one or two Thiem style before they retire, not more.

I can't see any younger player challenging them though. Not Fonseca nor Tien nor Mensik. Honestly as of today I'd still rate Lehecka higher than all of them, could get dangerous at some surfaces but still a step below any of Drap - Mus - She.

So basically not anyone born realistically prior 2005, probably?

Phoneyseca handshakes are not either.

just hope Engel mentally gets tougher
that is the only weakness in the youth
distracted digitally by so many things.

I think if anybody, Tien and a hypothetically healthy Draper could do it. Tien has some glaring weaknesses but he's playing very smart. Draper just needs to quit it with the high school player level of constitution.

Tien can do bo5 but serve is rice pudding and no real weapon just
great court play, percentage and basically David Ferrer stuff like
Goffin once was promising yet Gatekeeper material.

Physically Tien is below many WTA players and while still young
will have recovery abilities but not as he ages and stays soft.

Draper cant do bo5 only 3 unless he goes Clostebol like Sinner
or some kind of stamina roids while he is away healing.

Hopefully the balls dont ruin Drapers body any further as many
including Kaure Sell has a video on the possible damage of these
balls which are basically dangerous.

Engel needs to go to FeZ Academy to beef him up like Carlitos
as he is ready to move up physically to counter these slower
low bouncing balls with better mobility and Olympic Athletism

Well Engel has his work cut out for him if this kid matures as fast as his brother
Babolat as a brand is so lucky, its crazy. Lil J won at Rafa Academy only dropping 2 sets

His injury story is pretty concerning, and he has generally underperformed in Best of 5.

I can see him becoming a sporadic threat with his lefty big game, but probably not a #1 candidate.

With his large frame and injury proneness he's likely to decline athletically earlier than other top players, but realistically he should stay around for 5-ish years.

(also i'm not a fan of his public persona)

Fonseca may be mighty overrated right now, but depending on how he evolves athletically he could become a factor. Never count out any player with easy power and good technique, those are signs of a high potential peak.

Fonseca i think may have weight issues in terms of having to work very hard to keep in shape which may make him injury prone.

As for Draper, sadly hearing concerning things about him, nothing terrible or controversial, but in terms of his off court lifestyle which isn't going to help him have a Slam winning career as sadly if he carries on he is going to be prone to too many injuries.

What about Holger Rune?

If you’re looking at talented players coming up who can if they develop: Fonseca and Mensik. Both need to make strides in 26’.
Mensik broke out in Miami sure but failed to progress in the grand slams.

Fonseca was a rookie. Made 3R in each slam I believe. Kind of hit the wall recently which happens to rookies. Kids at 18 -19 YO usually are just learning how to take care of their bodies.

We shall see. No one really knows. Those two pass the eye test. Results need to come through though.

What about Holger Rune?
Talent wise he has the tools. But has not put them together mentally which is what you see from a results standpoint. He’s on that shapo level path of wasted talent that didn’t develop although more accomplished than Dennis.

22YO is still young but I think next year you’ll see where he’s heading from a career path.

Valentin Vacherot , new champion of Shanghai Masters. Let's see what will happen when he meets SinCaraz in the future.

I thought Fonseca a few months ago but he has had some letdowns and dissapoinments, still he has a good future and could be a very dangerous player.
Sort of a similar situation for Mensik somehow but in theory Mensik has more potential.
Tien is a good prospect but I don't think he has the game to challenge Sinner and Alcaraz consistently in big tournaments.

A lot of guys have letdowns in their rookie seasons especially towards the end of the year. Not used to the travel. If he doesn’t develop, this performance in Sept-October is not a great example.
