Who can stop Novak this year? Sam Querrey.

Yes. You heard it here. This kid has grown in leaps and bounds and looks primed to take on the Big Guns. He has already felled Djokovic (Paris 2012) and Federer (in doubles) in the past. He is becoming better and better with each passing day. Just saw his effortless beatdown of del Potro in Delray Beach. IMPRESSIVE. Unbridled offense which is very difficult to hang with. A matchup between Novak and Sam is going to be fascinating. Something tells me that Querrey has the belief and the game to stop Novak.

This error machine has no chance in hell of beating Novak. He can barely beat clown tennis players. Having not beaten Del Potro at this level would have been a disappointment.

But hats off, hilarious mate.

I like Sam Querry. I saw him live playing Isner here in Auckland 1 month ago. Talk about big guys and power. Querry (6ft 6") and Isner (6ft 10"). He lost of isner by a very small margin. I just don't think he has a variety to consistently beat the top guys though.

Querrey has won titles on all surfaces, and all conditions (indoor and outdoor)
8 titles now but he had the potential to win more
his backhand is still better than Tsonga's and his volley skills are certainly not bad (I noticed he went to the net quite often to win Delray Beach)
hopefully this win gets him confidence and he can win Nottingham where he has the game to do some damage
also expect some good performances at Wimbledon and the US open

in 2009 he had a great US summer when he won Los Angeles, and made the final of Indianapolis and New Haven, winning the "US open series" (ahead of Del Potro and Andy Murray)
unfortunately a month later when in Bangkok to play the tournament, he sat on a glass table that collapsed and cut his right arm, had to go to the emergencies and obviously called it a season
still in 2010 he bounced back and won 4 titles in Memphis (indoor HC beating Roddick, Gulbis and Isner), Belgrade (european clay), Queens (grass, beating Malisse, Schuettler and Fish) and Los Angeles on outdoor hardcourt, where he was the defending champion, beating Anderson, Tipsarevic and Murray.
At the US open that year he lost an epic 5 setters against Wawrinka in the fourth round.

The rise of the Querrey continues.

Defeats 4 time Memphis champion Nishikori with relative ease, 6/4 6/3.

Djokovic is lucky that Querrey stuck to the Americas but his days are numbered.

The stats don't make good reading for Big Sam. He has only ever beaten Djokovic once in 9 meetings (back in 2012) while he has lost their last 4 meetings. Still, he's pretty much in the same boat as everybody else vs the world number#1 so he might as well swing freely and remember 2012. What has he got to lose? ;)

I think N.K. might have something for him in Dubai!

Kyrigos' fitness has improved, you can tell he's getting stronger and still has room to improve in this department.

if he follows Murray's trajectory when he first became a threat, regarding fitness and strength, N.K. will be the next new number 1 player in the world!

IMHO Cuevas is a big candidate too to conquer the ATP. He just beat Nadal and then Guido Pella! Besides, being 30 years old, he certainly satisfies the basic requirement to be in Top 10.

With the defeat of both Nishikori and Fritz, Querrey is now the victor of Delrey and moral victor of Memphis, could he soon be the moral victor of Buenos Aires too?

I saw Querrey play in person when he was much younger. I saw the talent then. This guy is the real deal, the leader of the American young guns. Dropped a bit in the rankings due to various external factors but he is back with a vengeance and he's here to stay. Novack may finally have some tough competition at W and USO. Querrey is going to get Arthur Ashe rocking and bring a level of energy to American tennis that hasn't been seen since 2003 Roddick or the glory days of Agassi.

I was most impressed by his power when I first saw him live at USOpen years ago when he was first coming onto the scene but now I cannot muster a slightest belief he can do it. He doesn't seem to have the dominant alpha male mindset to fight and win.

Saved by the elements for the second year in a row. King Querrey shall surely be felled tomorrow.

Or Sunday.

Or Monday.

Maybe Tuesday at the rate we're going.

Epic prediction if it holds true. Too bad about the rain delay…Robot has time to get his s**t together and be yelled at by a million coaches and Querrey has time to dwell on things and get tight. I'd love to see the upset though.
