Djokovic, Wawrinka or Tsitsipas.

I mean, Wawrinka's best surface may be clay but he's smart enough to put his marbles on AO with fresh legs.

Can I change my vote? I'd like to see Federer win the AO (in the hope he comes back in 2021 to defend), Dimitrov win Wimby (with attacking flair) and Tsitsipas win the USO (the same way). I don't really care who wins the dirt court thing, perhaps de Minaur (because Aussie).

I don't think Nadal can win the AO unless he gets a cake draw.

Yes, he's done better against the field than Djok or Fed, but he's done far worse against the Other Big Two than they have against him. Outside of beating Fed this year at the French, he has not beat Djok or Fed at any Slam since the first half of 2014.

I'm gonna go with Fed, Djok, or Tsits, with Fed being my sentimental choice.

No, but if I was, I might be fascinated by boring baseline bots .. like the rest of this forum.
I like all those guys, and I don't come from the future, but it is VERY unrealistic to think that Dimitrov and de Minaur have ANY chance of winning a GS next year. Especially de Minaur in RG. Tsitsipas might have a good chance at USO as well as Federer in AO.

Realistic is that Nadal and Djokovic will everything just slogging from the back of the court. I prefer to live in hope that we might see more interesting tennis than that.

AO 2017 Djokovic was out by Istomin.
US Open 2017 Federer was out by Del Potro.
AO 2019 Federer was out by Tsitsipas.
US Open 2019 Djokovic was out by Wawrinka and Federer was out by Dimitrov.

And you blame Nadal from this?
You can not be serious!

Not a question of blame. Just facts.

RG15: L to Djok
AO17: L to Fed
W18: L to Djok
AO19: L to Djok
RG19: W vs Fed
W19: L to Fed

I said "or" not "and"/both

And you still blame Nadal for not defeating those 2 in those Majors that I pointed out just because they lost before facing the Spaniard.
And it is laughable that you mention RG as an example, when you know very well that Nadal would have shattered Djokovic and Federer in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 editions (here he defeated the Swiss but he would also have done it against the Serbian).

Murray of course (it would be legendary after so many misses and especially following on what happened a year ago).

But why does Stan (whom he beat last month in Antwerp) get an option and not Andy???
The 5 set format. Murray hasn't really shown he is capable of going deep in a Slam tournament. That Antwerp title had him playing 3 consecutive 3 set matches. I don't know how he'd do in 3 consecutive 5 set matches, especially in earlier rounds.

It's not a question of blame, he just lost. It is what it is. He's no longer the threat to them that he used to be.

Again, I am not knocking him for not beating them BOTH in one Slam. I'm pointing out that in the last 5 years, his record against them at Slams is 1-5...and outside of RG it is 0-5. Which is why I don't see him winning AO2020 (or Wimbledon or the US) if he has to meet one or both of them.

But if the draw falls apart and Fed and Djok both lose before facing him...he can win anything. I hope that seems like a fair assessment, I'm not really trying to 'blame' him for anything.

He doesn't need to do it. Nadal has 1 year and a half or even 2 more years to win a few more Majors.
Can he do it? That is another question.
Federer will turn 39 and, not counting Wimbledon where the Swiss is still a threat, in the remaining Slams several players can beat him.
And speaking of threats, we have to wait until 2020 if the signs of Djokovic's decline are just that or something else ...

The signs of Djokovic's decline are real and have been there since 2016, he was never the 2011/14/15 guy again. However even his 80% is enough to win Slams and that's the same boat the other two are in. I think their window for winning Slams is way longer than 2 years, I think each could win their final Slams well into the next decade.

Fed proved at W19 that he COULD beat both of the other 2...he just choked it away, but it was on his racquet and there is no real reason it can't happen again.

All of their movement has declined but Rafa and Fed have been innovative and tinkered with their arsenal to extend themselves. I'm not sure Djokovic can do the same, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was the first of the 3 to really go down the tubes.

The only way we will know for sure they are done is when they just can't get past the Tsits, Meds, Thiems in the QFs and SFs of Slams, and we are still a ways away from that IMO. But realistically they will be a threat for a long time even if their seeding starts to drop a bit. Why couldn't Rafa win a French Open at 40+? Why wouldn't he keep pushing? They all have to, there is no choice.

Andy Murray .

If not Murray ,then Djokovic- to heat up GOAT race more . If Djoker wins AO ,it also keeps Federer in the competition . All three will have chances to be GOAT and will make the sport more interesting .
Good point, Fedfans are still rooting for Djok in a sick way.

Still can't escape the feeling that Rafa will keep winning the French for another 5-10 years and will end up being like 3-5 Slams clear of Fed when it's all said and done.

My vote is not about who I want to win but about who I think is hottest right now, and that guy has to be Nadal, although no one should ever count out Djokovic at the AO, and Rafa has not had good luck at the AO.

Why reply then? This isn't the who's the hottest right now thread, this is the who do you want to win thread. Sheesh, live a little. It's not about getting the correct answer.

The OP did not make intent clear. Could have been about favorites, could have been about trying to guess who is most likely to win.

"Who do you vote for to win AO 2020?"
So I'm voting for Nadal as most likely to win. Who would I LIKE most to win? Fed. ;)

You could be right about Nadal. He's been unlucky at the AO despite being quite consistent there the last few years. When someone is that consistent, they sometimes get rewarded at the end.

My hunch is that he has been quietly retooling his game solely with the idea of increasing his odds against Fedovic. He's coming to the net more, acing more, winning a record number of service games on HC. He's always been just about the best in the business at beating the guys he is expected to beat, and my data shows he is the most clutch of the big 3 in handling BPs - Fed is the weakest, statistically. Djokovic has been up and down in 2019, and I did not see the same iron will to win after the AO. 40/15 aside, I think Novak was very lucky to pull through at Wimbledon. His return stats dropped this year, and Nadal's were nearly peak on HC. That leads me to believe that he and his team are targeting the other members of the Big 3.

Look below. Title says like, but poll header says vote...

I don't know where you live. In my area of the US "like" is often slang for "who do you pick", kind of this way: "Who do like for the win?" Also, I may have watched too many crime dramas. It's common for a detective to "like" someone for a crime, meaning pick him as the guy who "did it". ;)
