I so hope Alex De Minaur and Denis Shapovalov have breakthrough years! Borna Coric already has his first and he would be another. I actually really like quite a few of the younger players, which bodes well for enjoying tennis as the big three begin to fade as they all get older.

I thought Borna Coric won his first? Or was that in 2017?

I would rate Chung's title as an ATP title, it is more ATP than Wimbledon is!

Anyway, great thread :)
Chung would be my guess, but as said he has already won one, so I'll take Taylor Fritz.

Alex de Minaur looks to be the most determined and focussed out of the group. He is the one who would surprise me the most of he doesn't land a maiden title in 2019.

I discount Mannarino as I think he is bidding to take on Benneteau's mantle of being the most talented player without a singles title.

Borna won his first ATP title at tournament Grand Prix Hassan II (Marrakesh, Morocco) in 2017 season. In the final Coric defeated Kohlschreiber 5:7, 7:6(3), 7:5.

According to ATP, Chung has a 0 titles: https://www.atpworldtour.com/en/players/hyeon-chung/ch27/titles-and-finals
The Next Gen Finals is in a similar position as challengers. Challengers also don't count towards ATP titles, although ATP organize challengers.

Wow ok, actually didn't realize they didn't, well I guess you were right to not include him then.

Besides the big names up top, I see potential for "mini" isner Opelka to sneak a possible title. Was watching him a lot this year and he has tremendous upside and when he is on it is terrifying.

Go on, throw in Shanghai and then he will have won everything that is possible for him to win. :)

I was kind of cheating with that one because Nadal has won Madrid when it was an indoor (in Shanghai's slot) so he doesn't have to win it to get the Golden Masters

I would want Benneteau to finally win his first title but it sadly doesn't look very likely to happen.

But based on your list

Shapovalov: He had a decent year this year with some good wins. I feel like if his game is going well, he has a chance to win a small 250 title.
De Minaur: Great year this year and some good wins. Could win a 250 title.
Hyeon Chung: Great year this year with a lot of good wins. I consider that the Next Gen finals are like a title, but if he remains healthy he will win a title next year.
Auger-Aliassame: Good young player but I don't see it happening next year.
Taylor Fritz: Good young player with some good wins and he has a chance for a title.
Jaziri: Played very well this year and had good wins and I see him winning a title.
Lajovic: Also had a good year and could win a title.
Mannarino: If he gets his head right in a final he will win one.
Millman: If he remains healthy he will win one.

I feel like Mannarino will get the job done.

Sandgren almost covered the points for the AO 18 and would likely keep it inside the top 100 for the upcoming year. Good for him

I'd have said Shapo, De Minaur and Chung among the poll choices.
de Minaur got his 1st.

Nice to see that Alex got his maiden title at his home town event! :)

Did anybody foresee Tennys becoming the 1st maiden titlist of 2019? ;)
