Assuming peak Wawrinka forehand vs peak Gonzalez forehand. They both finish their forehands below shoulder but Wawrinka much shorter swing whereas Gonzalez much larger swing. Both hit good topspin and flat bombs.

Even though Wawrinka was still a fair way off his ultimate form Stanimal persona in the year 2008, he ultimately didn't have much say during their French Open encounter; just from the moment Gonzalez finally found his forehand after a two-set deficit & started to go for broke with it.

I read this as who had the better forehead

Still not awake apparently. *sips coffee*

Oh and Gonzalez by a long shot.. if anything Wawrinka is known for the BH. His power ont he forehand though is not shabby and I think because of the strength of his BH, he gets some better opportunities with the forehand.

Who had? In case you haven't seen a tennis tourney in a while, Wawrinka is a current ATP player. But, to answer your silly question, just watch a video of FG, you needn't ask that question, ever again.

It took the absolute peakiest version of the greatest player of all time to stop that Gonzalez forehand, that should tell you everything you need to know about just how powerful that shot was.

Not taking anything away from Wawa, but Gonzo had one of the best FHs of that era. I can only think of Federer and Nadal having a better FH during Gonzo's prime.

I had another post where most agreed peak Wawrinka forehand was better than peak Djokovic forehand. So Gonzalez’s forehand is way better than Djokovic’s forehand?

I don't agree that Wawa's FH is better than Djoko's....in fact I think it's a joke!

Well, even Federer had said that the key to beating Gonzalez was to avoid his forehand and go to his backhand. That should tell you how feared Gonzo's forehand was.

Unpopular opinion: I'm going with Wawrinka. Gonzalez had a bigger swing and hit it a lot harder, but Wawrinka has impeccable technique and more consistency. It's an underrated but world-class shot.

Based only on the sound at impact I’d have to give the nod to Gonzalez, forehand sounded like an explosion.
