Servebot category is dying.
Hurkacz is borderline servebot but Perricard is total.

Honestly people choosing Hurkacz were ONLY doing so because last 2/3 years the BOTS were almost gone.

Perricard has completely brought BOT category back now. He might go on to have best serve of all time. Dude is scary. If not all time, definitely for next decade.

But not every bot had good form. Some are just big. The difference between Opelka and Isner has been discussed elsewhere, and one is good and the other excellent. (Agreed that GMP looks to be aiming for their level, but that's not true for all bots)

Was going to write something about GMP but Gill Gross has handled most of that and more. I just want to point out that if your upper speed boundary is higher your floor almost automatically lifts to some degree in most physical and mental activities. During Alpine ski race you will hear commentators state that this elite competitor has 'invested into the line' or 'has taken out something' while still going at unimaginable speeds for us mere mortals.

GMP out-speeds pretty much every other guy by such an amount that taking something off his serve still allows him to send absolute bombs as second serves.

Fine graph by OctopusNation2024. Perricard outstanding, Meddy in dire serve straights, Zverev not that bad considering his very high firstIn percentage.

Sinner & Alcaraz still room to grow while Dimitrov has been maxing out.

I lost interest when he compared him to Sampras. The kid has not even won anything of substance. The Sampras serve was the best against the contemporary greats. Infact I still remember many times when Fed would serve and Rafa would lean the wrong way. Right now, nobody knows him, but once people start watching some tapes of GMP that is when his serving needs to be talked about whether it still holds.

Good

Gill is good analyst of tennis who can sometimes make some mistakes but he is dead on on this.

So this one again is on YOU

Simply put.
Stop putting players on pedestal so you won't lose interest when they are knocked down

GMP doesn’t need one. I think two things are true at the same time:

1) His serve has right now an output we have never seen before

2) We see how it goes in the long run after some adjustments by other players, as I also have written before.

Alcaraz probably has the best "service game" because Djokovic couldn't break him at the Olympics.

Djokovic won the Gold medal defeating Alcaraz. That is the only point which matters to history.

You know that's not the question he's asking, so why give that answer? It seems kind of churlish. "Best serve" is a tennis question that's been around forever. Who cares whether the player with the supposed best serve can win slams or not? We already have thousands of slam threads. Alcaraz doesn't have to be a contender in every discussion.

Clearly, the person you responded to attempts to soil as many threads as possible with his embarrassing fanboy posts attempting to elevate Alcaraz with false credits. If he needs to be elevated with false credits in any way, he has problems ass-kissing will not solve.

Problem is the return. No serve will make up for a return game won stat on 10%, at least if you intend to win Masters and above.

It will be nearly impossible for Perricard to get to BPs vs the top players, and all it takes for a top player is one bad serve game from Perricard.
