I think that can have a great impact on results.

If Sinner-Rune play first and Sinner wins, the second match between Djokovic and Hurkacz would be useless. De facto an exho.

If Djokovic-Hurkacz play first and Djokovic doesn't win 2-0, Sinner likely would be less motivated, and that's an unfair disadvantage to Nole.

I think play Sinner-Rune first is, at sport level, the better thing to do. So no one has an advantage by less motivated opponents(Maybe Hubi, but who cares?). But I also understand organizer can prefer two meaningful match, at least on papere.

For context, here are the possible scenarios:

• Sinner d. Rune: Sinner wins group, Djokovic 2nd (result vs Hurkacz irrelevant)
• Rune d. Sinner:
  • Hurkacz d. Djokovic or Djokovic d. Hurkacz 2-1: Rune wins group, Sinner 2nd
  • Djokovic d. Hurkacz 2-0:
    • Rune d. Sinner 2-0: Rune wins group, Djokovic 2nd
    • Rune d. Sinner 2-1: Standings decided on games won/lost %; Djokovic practically guaranteed to be in
