Who here thinks Canada could win the DC?

Agut of Spain is on his way to beating Aliassime of Canada in the 1st rubber so it will be almost a miracle for Shaps' to beat Nadal in the second rubber then team up will Pops to win the deciding rubber in doubles. Had Shaps and Nadal been the 1st rubber then I'd have given Shaps about a few % chance of pulling it off with a few hours of rest from playing first. Not including the WO Shaps has the h2h is 1-1 so he has beaten Nadal on a hc before.

A very good run by Canada but they fell inevitably to the better side in the finals. Not sure of the wisdom of putting FAA out there in the first singles, which left too tall an ask of Shapo in the second match. I like the new format as it builds interest as the week goes on!

The US needs to invent their own version and play all American teams for it then call themselves world champions kind of like all the things they already do.
The best players in the world play in the US based leagues in those sports. Notice they don't call the MLS Cup champions world champions. But the NBA is made up of more non-Americans than ever, and baseball and hockey are very much filled with non-americans, and hardly anyone plays football. Just because franchises aren't based in other cities doesn't mean there are franchises worthy of consideration.

If you think a basketball team based in Split or Sydney has any business on a court with the best NBA squad, then I don't really know what to say because you would have to be ruled by delusions.

On the contrary my little wannabe counterfeit insurrectionist, the Davis Cup was the brainchild of one James Dwight, he of the United States Tennis Federation, so you see weedhopper, here we have another case of you living in our world. Now get your feet off the table you ungrateful, parasitic good for nothing : )

Could Pospisil have done better against Agut? Maybe. But odds are Canada would have lost no matter what.

The biggest chance Canada had of winning Davis Cup was if Great Britain had managed to win the doubles rubber against Spain.

I would have liked Canada's chances against Great Britain.
