Who Is Better Between FAA, Shapo, Norrie, Hurkacz, Fritz, and RBA

Felix Auger Aliassime, Denis Shapovalov, Cameron Norrie, Hubert Hurkaz, Taylor Fritz, and Roberto Bautista Agut have all established themselves as occasional members of the ATP's top 10, but the question is out of all of them who is the best player? My personal oppinion is that RBA is better than all these people as a player. I also considered adding Berrettini and Rune into this list but decided that a good criteria for this is that they never pass no. 10, 9, or 8 in the rankings (With the exception of Fritz and FAA who are currently outside of the top 10) and rarely make it into the finals of 1000s or Grand Slams.

Hey man good question

As of right now I would say Hurckaz by a pretty fair margin. Pretty much everybody else listed is down from their all time highs, either in rank or level or both. Some of this was regression to the mean, some of this is caused by mental slump, and some is from more real life things. Injuries, for example. I think RBA was not only injured for a while but had some pretty serious family matters which I’m sure compounded problems in his tennis career. Ditto with Berrettini. The only exception is Fritz but I think he plain sucks and I really, really cannot stand him so I didn’t pick him.

Wow
I will remove RBA its not fair he is old geezer now.

Among all the rest, its Taylor Fritz. He was called next Sampras when he was coming up. I like his game.

In terms of "peak", "potential", yadda yadda, etc Shapovalov.

In terms of actual results, definitely Hurkacz. He is also probably ahead of Berrettini despite the latter making a slam final.

Hurkacz is ranked #9 and Fritz #12 on the ATP rankings. If you look at only points from this year (Race to Turin list), Hurkacz is #11 and Fritz is #12. So they are both very close in level.

I think Hurkacz is more of a threat on grass and maybe indoors while Fritz should be the better player on clay and outdoor hard courts. But even on grass, I think they are both fairly close with a good chance to both make the Wimbledon QFs and maybe even a semifinal for one of them.

Shapo has the highest ceiling but has mental and technical flaws.

Right now Hubi is by far the best in form.
I completely agree with this statement. My personal opinion that RBA is the better one in this list is based off his relatively consistent performance on tour in later years (late 2010s through 2022) I also believe that out of these people he has the most solid gamestyle and is overall a standard gatekeeper player.

I've seen enough Shapovalov overhype to last me a lifetime, He's bottom of any list and if you wanna try and justify him being high by saying peak play then Norrie/Hurkacz crush that.

For me I would say Hurkacz > Fritz > Norrie > RBA > FAA > Shapovalov.

Norrie crushes Shapo in peak play? Wut?

Anyway, people are underrating Shapo cause of his injury.

Shapo was 2 sets from a WB QF when he got injured last year. Saying RBA or Norrie are better than Shapo is blasphemous.

Norrie has a Wimbledon SF also, taking a set off Djokovic, has a masters (notably beating RBA on route). Has beaten Alcaraz in clay final and has had a significantly better career. I'm not underrating Shap, he's right where he belongs.

Norrie has a Wimbledon SF cause Zverevs injury shifted the seeds, Russians (Medvedev/Rublev/Khachanov) were not allowed, several players dropped out due to COVID (Cilic/Berrettini), Hurkacz the seeds top player lost R1, and Norrie ended up playing Goffin for the SF, whom he was down 2-1 sets against.

Maybe apply some context.

"notably beating RBA en route"

Is this supposed to be a joke?

Alcaraz was cramping and couldnt walk.

"significantly better career" ?

Norrie has made it past the R4 of a slam once and it took the most miraculous set of circumstances as shown above. Shapovalov made it past that stage 3 times, and it would be 4 barring his injury at WB last year. Theres only a difference in Masters titles because Norrie played Basilashvili for his (at a Masters where once more top seeds dropped like never since with the tournament being at a completely random time cause of COVID re-organizations) and Shapovalov played Djokovic.

Its like you tried to say as many wrong things in 1 post as possible. Mindboggling stuff.

Berdych, Tsonga, Soderling, and Nalbandian are better than all of them in terms of peak

The rest are maybe Ferrer tier
