Even if Rafa gets an easy draw and reaches the final, the other semi final might potentially be Novak vs Med or Novak vs Zverev, somebody will win out of this other semi final and who ever wins will beat Rafa in the final. They are too powerful.....

Tokyo is best of 3, New York is best of 5. No reason to adjust expectations for the latter based on the former. If in the weeks ahead he looks completely hopeless whenever he takes the court? Maybe then.

It’s a Slam, Djokovic is the favorite.

However, the US Open has been the most open Slam of the four for awhile now, so he isn’t as massive of a favorite as he is at the AO and Wimbledon.
Thats why he has 3 USO only. At slower hard court, he had more competition from Nadal, Murray, Stan etc.
And everyone will be fired up to beat him abd prevent him the CYGS.

The pressure of going for a CYGS will be enormous, but nobody handles pressure better than Djokovic. It also depends if the USO allows capacity crowds. New Yorkers pretty much hate Djokovic and will be rooting against him in every match. He's used to hostile crowds, but that will add additional pressure for him. If Zverev wins gold and wins Cincy, he might be an obstacle, but probably not.

I voted other, imo there's no clear favorite atm. We don't know how Nadal and Djokovic are gonna be doing in a month's time and you can't count on anyone under 30 from a mental standpoint (or even physical to some extent!) in BO5.

Nadal may be the favorite. While everyone is playing themselves into fatigue all year, hes chilling. He may get a creampuff draw. If he does win the USO then things sure do get interesting. The GOAT Debate isn't over.

Starting to get this feeling Nadal might do it again actually! Nadal v zverev final is possible if they on other sides.

I hope Djokovic rebounds but I feel he might be too burnt out to win this one.

We can’t rule out Nadal here. How often has he been written off and made mugs of us all? Not many are talking about him but that’s how he likes it under the radar. The guy is the ultimate competitor too like Djokovic is also.

There is no reason at all to have faith in Med or Zverev or any player born after 1993 or whatever in a slam final. We have seen evidence of that too many times to count. A slam final is different than a WTF or Olympic final, or a slam semi or quarter. Now all that said it wouldn't surprise me that much if one of them wins, but it will be a situation 2 of them make it, so one of them has to win, and it is a matter of who outchokes each other then; eg U.S Open final last year.

If Nadal somehow makes the final vs any of those minus Novak he will win. Heck if it is a slam final and by some miracle 40 year old Federer made it, he probably even wins. Those guys in a slam final vs another but each other = automatic loss.

If Djok makes the QF/SF, he wins it all. No matter who is on the other side of the net.

If he doesn't win the trophy it's because he had a shock 3/4R loss to someone outside the Top 10.

They are all growing up with respect to their games and forever won't remain losers, neither will Rafa keep winning if he reaches finals, this time if Rafa reaches final via a cakewalk draw he is going down.

We will see. I don't see any growth in terms of the mental hurdle of winning a slam final. Medvedev went from nearly winning the U.S Open final a year and a half ago, to giving up just past halfway through the Australian Open final this year. Great progress.

In that final it was Rafa against him
This time it was the world number 1 and mental giant - Novak Djokovic
So there was a bit of a difference
