Who is not happy that Nadal won the US open this year?

Anyone who dislikes Nadal was angry. Just like every Nadal fan was angry or at least very disappointed when Fed won AO 2017.

If you don't like a player, you're going to hate that player winning any big event.

I hated it for years when Djokovic won majors. I'm over it. ;)

I am over not hating Nadal anymore, but hate to see him surpass Federer’s major count, and then you start to hear *******s here and around the world to claim he is the goat. Geez, goat for an one trick pony!

Again, the keys to beat nadal is pretty simple, dictate plays, move him around and give him plenty of backhands. Make the rallies last as long as possible; tire him out and grind him out if you have the younger legs.

If I were medvede’s coach, he would have won the 2019 US Open.

Lol. This is the single most stupid post I have ever heard on this forum. Tells you something about the level of stupidity of this post. Losing Wimbledon and Aussie open final to a "one trick pony" is what makes you GOAT. Ok I get it. Its so easy to beat him that is why he has the best winning pct in open era.:laughing::laughing::-D:-D

Once you go to Nadal’s back hand, he is defensive doesn’t dictate the play anymore, then it is simply just change direction on every stroke and jerk him to side to side to tire him out. Nadal is so untalented so he stands very far behind the baseline (give him time to react), hence he has a lot more court to cover.

You have stupid young right handed players keep going to nadal’s forehand by cross court it is as if they don’t know how to hit down the line back hand.

So many times, nadal just hitting forehands all day.

Read my next post, ignorant! The right handers didnt tailor their game to exploit nadal and continue now. Finally Federer starts in 2017 and is beating Nadal 6 or 7 in a row now.

You know what requires more talent than winning 19 slams at the age of 33? It is to lose from 40-15 multiple times against the same player in most important matches. Yeah I agree Federer is far more talented in losing from 40-15 than nadal. :-D

The reason not many people take you Federer fans seriously is because of posts like this, the highlighted piece being the icing. You folks incessantly play down Djokovic & Nadal, calling them pushers, grinders & mugs not realizing that just makes your hero look worse for losing so many times to these guys.

You let the trauma of these losses get to your head and write utter tripe much of the time.

People around me were a little disappointed. I asked them why.

One guy said he didn't like Nadal because he seems arrogant.
Another said he thinks Nadal is not very humble.
Interesting.

I'm disappointed that Medvedev couldn't finish it off. That comeback would of been a hell of a story and maybe a stepping stone and sign to the world that the next gen is coming but instead we got another generic win for the oldies.
If Medvedev had turned the final from 0-2 to 3-2 on the sets, it would have been the first turnover of this kind in the USO finals after 70 years and the fifth in the Open era in the GS men's singles final (first outside the RG). The final could have been historic.

Actually, since 2017 Fed won five in a row, then Nadal won at RG 2019. Then Fed won at Wimbledon 2019.

Err....that is not the same thing. Federer won AO 2017 by beating Nadal in the final. No sane fan of Nadal would be expected to be happy with that result.

The equivalent is Federer winning a slam final where he is not playing Nadal. I expect a lot of Nadal fans are simply indifferent and don't care either way when that happens, like at Wimbledon 2017. Some might even be glad for the guy, because they think he deserved to hold the Wimbledon record outright.

This is just completely untrue. I do not dislike Nadal, but was unhappy he won the USO. I wasn't "angry" at all. I am angry with things Fed does, like blowing two MP's in the Wimbledon final. What's the point of getting ticked off at Nadal?

It will happen to Federer as its happened to any player who once had won the most majors.

Utter nonsense. You are only posting this because of the way he's handled Federer over the years, which also provided a wealth of evidence to deflate the laughable "Federer-is-GOAT" squeals from the worst of his fanbase.

Lol. This is the single most stupid post I have ever heard on this forum.

Oh, its in the running with many of the posts from the worst of Federer's fans, who move goalposts, spit anger, claim "tennis am be dead" when he loses / majors count threatened, etc.

Yes Nadal must have 0 talent with 19 Majors.

This clown needs banning. What a prat lol.

Then what you are saying has nothing to do with what I said, because you were not angry. Others were, some very angry. As for being even unhappy, only you know if this is because you didn't like the USO itself or because Fed was injured and could not make it to the end, or because you really did not want to see Nadal gain another major at the expense of Fed.

meh i dont agree, there are valid reasons imo for all 3 to be likeed and disliked. they all have unlikable qualities

I wasn't happy about the unsportsmanlike conduct, but don't care that he won.

What makes me really unhappy is every slam being won using clay court tennis. Whether it's Nadal, Djokovic, Federer or anyone else .. the same grinding style over and over is just boring.

Oh yesss, I say it like I am having some good sex with the gf when I read this. Like we have been complaining about this for years, the courts are so slow that a clay court specialist like Nadal is allowed to win Wimbledon, what a joke for atp, suck it, atp.

He did? I forgot. The main thing I remember this year is that 8-7, 40-15 happened, and then later on, Djokovic ended up losing the US Open.

But congrats to the Nadal. 2020 is 20-20.
