Oh and one last thing, I really hope we see Djokovic vs Murray at Wimbledon next year. It is clear Djokovic owns the matchup vs Federer right now. But on grass, Djokovic has avoided Murray the last 2 years. since losing to him on 2013. We need to see a rematch of that one!
Mmm, seeing as Murray lost to Dimitrov in 2014 and to Federer this year I'd hardly say it's Novak who's been doing the avoiding!

We shall never understand that 2013 finale. I pulled for Murray, but Novak lead by a break in two sets. 4-2 I think both times, something like that. The 3-0 is not representative.
I agree it was a weird match. Novak looked very off, yet it was closer than the score. Hence why we need a rematch! I still have the perception that Murray would be a slight favorite .

He meant avoided in the reverse sense, that Murray wasn't good enough to reach the finales.

And somehow that is supposed to speak in Andy's favour?

bad word choice by me. Murray in 2014 was really poor. This year Federer just played outstanding against him. One of his old "turn back the clock" performances.

It's true... Maybe just my perception, but I'd like Murray's chances were they to meet again. Would you favor your guy in that matchup?

Yeah, considering Dimitov beat Murray in straights there's no way I could see Andy beating Djokovic in the semis. He would've been a tougher proposition this year but I still think Novak would've come through.

For me 2014 Djokovic would have easily won against Murray. This year I felt it would have been 50-50. I was rooting for Murray to get past Fed.

Obviously at this point you can't compare their achievements. Novak's 3 Wimbledon titles are an unbelievable accomplishment, and blow away anything Roddick ever did. But I feel like peak Roddick could have also beaten Nadal at Wimbledon or old Fed in 2014/2015. And I can't see Novak in his current form beating Federer at Wimbledon during the prime years.

I'd love to see 2004 or 2009 Roddick against Djokovic in a Wimbledon final. I honestly would like Roddick's chances given his h2h with Djokovic and the matchup issues he seemed to cause Novak. I also really wished to see the same version of Roddick against 2008 or 2010 Nadal. Either matchup could have been epic.

I don't feel that way. It's like saying an in-form Federer could have beaten sub par Nadal at FO. The truth is he had several chances and every time failed to deliver.

If Federer played Nadal this year at the French he would have beaten him. Nadal's level slipped a lot this season. I say that as a Rafa fan. Roddick was extremely close against Fed in 2009. Give him 2015 Fed, and I think he wins

Just my extremely subjective opinions, you are free to your own

He's five times better than Roddick and Hewitt though, who actually met Federer fairly often in his prime.

100% disagree. Had Federer met Nadal this year at FO he would lose just like every other time. Federer himself wasn't playing that well. But there were occasions when he did, with Nadal being somewhat shaky like 2006 or 2011. And he never finished the job.

Novak will always be remembered at SW19 not just for eating the grass. It is always a wonderful sight to see someone slip and slide their way to the title.

Nice to see fans of players who lose in the first week to journeymen and teenagers chiming in on Wimbledon greatness
Jokes aside, I would have liked to see another match between peak Nadal and peak Djokovic at Wimbledon also! In 2011 Djokovic owned Nadal mentally. Too bad Nadal's grass game is terrible the last few years, and we never saw them play again at SW19

Makes it even more impressive and SPARTAN-LIKE!!!!!!!!!!!

Spartaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Sorry, I always get carried away like this when I think of Novak trashing little RF in spite of having 20,000 yuppies boo him.

Federer wasn't beating Nadal at the French this year mate.

Maybe the memory of old wounds would have been to much to overcome. But Nadal was playing quite bad on clay this season. Any Djokovic fan will probably not agree... But he got destroyed by the likes of Murray and Fognini who he previously dominated on the surface. Why not Fed?

Sure. Maybe his twins could beat Rafa too?

RF's butler? Throw him in too.

Maybe next year's finale will feature the twins vs. the butler.

Just speculating. You know, fantasizing and stuff. Letting my imagination run rampant.

Hahahaha nice gif. Well enjoy your moment Djokovic fans. By 2019 Oldvac Oldervic will be trying to just hang around against some younger studs.

All you guys will be like "No way peak Rublev beats peak Nole." and " Stan would have blown Coric off the court at RG"

I hear Fed's butler is good at serving...

Rublev is 10 years younger than Novak though

Ofc not, but you can see all your fedfanatics posts in this thread including yours

Read my posts again. You are taking them out of context. Remember that 2 years ago, it was a very close call. Surely, you can see that. I have great admiration for Andy, Roger and Nole. Given the poll today, my answers would be different.

Let's not lump everyone here together. Let's stick with facts and not just dismiss opinions because you believe those opinions are not valid due to your own perception and pigeonholing. How about a real discussion instead of dismissive posts?

You have just admitted that Novak will get the same treatment as RF.

Hence Novak is GOAT-like.

Nice of you for giving Novak this compliment, but he didn't need it.

Novak is one of the best players of all time, yes...

No need to be upset. I like and respect Novak's game. I just happen to think Roddick would have been a bad matchup for him at SW19. It seems Murray is a bad matchup at Wimbledon for Djokovic, but we need a bigger sample size. That is all.

One match is nothing. Especially given the overall H2H.

^^You guys are too extreme. H2H matters somewhat, but the playing conditions and a players level at that moment in time are factors also. I'm out

It is sad: I promise you most of this forum still thinks Roddick was/is the better grasscourter :mad:

Not better. Roddick had plenty of bad losses in his career on grass. Ie to Tipsarevic and Lu! And he never even won 1 Wimbledon. But if peak Roddick from 2004 or 2009 turned up in a later round of Wimbledon against Novak, he'd have a pretty decent chance to win. Why does that sound so crazy to people? Does everyone just think their heros are perfect, infallible, and cannot lose!? (Not talking to you directly 125)
