Good question. It's Novak and then some distance. Based on results, it's probably Medvedev but based on recent form I'm inclined to say Thiem.

Nadal holds Us Open and Canada. Djokovic holds AO and Shanghai (i think?). Thiem has Indian wells.

Right now id go 1. Nadal 2. Djokovic 3. Thiem. 4. Federer

Nadal gets the nod as he made quarters in australia whereas djokovic was last 16 in Flushing.

2. Medvedev
4. Thiem
5. Fed
6. Tsitsipas

Nadal and Med a virtual tie. I wanna see more of Thiem before I put him above those two but his level at the AO was very good but the court did suit him basically perfectly. 2-5 is super close and I say Tsitsipas as a clear 6.

US Open Champion.........................................................AO Champion.
The answer is easy: Novak Djokovic.

:)

Yeah makes sense that the guy who cannot win a single set off Djokovic on HC is the best player in the world right now, considering they both are holding the same amount of big titles on HC currently.

Has no sense. Nadal won the encounter of the US Open final, won their RR match in London plus another match (the Russian was defeated in his three games) and the Spaniard reached the QF of the Aussie Open, an instance with which Medvedev can only dream of getting. He also lost to Thiem, the finalist of the AO 2020. Meddy lost to Wawrinka. There is no more to add.

Lol. Nadal would not take a set against Nole on HC.

Definitely Nadal. Had Thiem won 1 of his big finals it would be him easily, if not first, but he didn't. Nadal played well enough in Australia, he beats everyone but Djokovic and Thiem there clearly. Even with his non clay losing streak to Federer I can't possibly imagine him losing to him there watching how both were playing there. He was decent at the WTF for him, going 2-1.

The only real question is who you've got at 3?

I think Thiem is clearly #3. Made the finals of the last 2 big events, although unfortunately lost both. Has beaten everyone, just can't win the big one. If he had won either of his big finals I would consider having him at #1 as he has become really consistent on hard courts lately.

Oh i get it. That was the best USO ever with Berretini Shwaztzman Chung Kokinakis.

LMAO I never said that. I just said if it was a mediocre win, it was still a slam win, and beating nobodies to win the title is doing a lot better than losing to a nobody (Federer) or a washed up ex top player (Djokovic). And don't say Dmitrov is not a nobody if you call Medvedev who is a way better player than Clownitrov a nobody.

Anyway if you want to look at things that way Djokovic's Australian Open win was also mediocre, beating an injured Federer then barely beating a badly gassed worn out Thiem.

And Nadal was playing terrible at the AO 2019?

Sure Berretini at the USO 2019 was not worn out.

Nadal fans= double standards.

He won the tournament. Most prestigious HC tournament in tennis. Nobody else on the list can say that.

A fluke.

He's never been able to defend a GS title outsid FO.
Only HC MS1000 that Nadal has been able to successfully defend was Canada Open. Guess what? Neither Novak and Roger played it.
Didn't play Cincinnati because too scared of losing to Novak or Fed.

Last set won by Nadal against Novak on HC: USO 2013.

1. Djokovic
2. Nadal
3. Thiem (would probably be #1 if he just won of his big finals)
4. Medvedev
5. Tsitsipas- WTF title almost has to put him here
6. Federer- no big titles or finals for awhile
7. Zverev- good last couple tournaments
8. Wawrinka

I think this is the most accurate one.
