Who realistically stops Nadal

Given Nadal utterly destroyed Medevedev, who is the in form hard court player, unless injury strikes it is hard seeing Nadal being stopped in New York or even losing more than 3 or 4 sets on way to title number 4.

Given nadal's form at moment (3 of 4 big events won), the humbleness of the man himself and his fans is so heartwarming to see. No arrogance, just respect for all opponents, and this is why Rafa is so popular.

Nadal is epic. Hoping for Federer/Nadal final, would be wings all over the place :p

Djokovic or a surprise run by next gen star! I think Rafa is a big favourite for at least the final though! It wouldn’t surprise me if he wins the us open again, he has a great track record there of late!

Only an unhealthy Humbalito himself. OP is awfully ignorant of The Nadal Proposition, considering he's supposedly a fan. The only question is knee tape or no, no?

I hope for the same, obviously with a different result than you will prefer. :p

But first of all, the US Open just needs this match, at least once (no matter the result).

The problem is how Federer can get past Djokovic, because he will be in his half of the draw if a Fedal final is possible.

Yes, he has a pretty good shot at it, but let's not get too carried away. If they meet, Novak would be favored, though not by the same margin as at the AO.

Fed could take him out, though I'd slightly favor Rafa here. Who else? Medvedev, Tsitsipas and Thiem (though the Austrian is a bit under the radar right now)...plus the cumulative effect of HC matches...are all factors.

I wonder what will be the next imaginary story from you?
Whatever injury the VamosBrigade come up with in case of Nadal's loss, that's the one I will repeat... And laugh at.

Although I guess pre-wedding jitters are also a possible obstacle now.

You seem so sure Novak or Fed will give Rafa a beatdown.
You should place a big bet on Federer as you can win some money if that’s going to happen.

All betting companies give Rafa bigger chance to win than Federer.

I would say probabilistically it is:

1. Djokovic
2. Fed
3. Injury

Don't underestimate injury.

Bull will have his chances in NYC for sure. In-form Joe or Roj will both be a formidable challenge but he would have his chances against either one.

He could always lose before SF/F but I think most people believe that Bull is the least upset prone at majors right now given the remarkable run he is on of 6 consecutive semis and 10/11 QF or better.

I am not, he definitely has his chances too.

Nadal is more reliable against the field these days so that's no surprise. You have to win 7 matches for a Slam. In the H2Hs against Fed and Novak though, he has done poorly recently on hard courts. And that lack of momentum can easily play a part if he meets them.

Nadal beat him in very windy conditions, which helped throw Bearerer off. Nadal usually profits from wind, rain, snow and tornadoes...

1, Djokovic
2, Federer
3, A random player
This pretty much.

Realistically Djokovic with the chance...second place is Federer.

Quite funny, Djokovic has taken up so much space in Fed's head that there is no space left for Nadal anymore. Lol

Random player is someone like Thiem

Federer has no chance, and on current form Djokovic only a slim chance.

This event is Nadal's to lose, you cannot overestimate the confidence soar he will have from Canada given the guy he beat in final.

Disagree completely, and we will leave it at that.

For me, Djokovic is top dog, Federer slightly ahead of Nadal. But that is the top three.

Tbh I think you know Nadal is favourite and wont admit it..i don't have an issue with anyone putting Djokovic top dog, but to put Federer 2nd is frankly utterly wishful thinking. There is absolutely nothing to suggest Federer is even remotely capable of winning USO, and I would go as far to say as he is not even top 5 contender wise.

Greg Rusesdski has said same thing, and while I do not give his opinion much weight as he is a rabid Federer fan, if even he says Federer has no chance, then things must be bleak for Rog.

I actually find it hard to tell the odds between Djokovic and Federer in regards to taking out Nadal. My guess is that a match between Fed and Nadal would be 50/50. But Federer will have to get to the match and be placed on the same side of the draw as Nadal. Then, when it comes to Djokovic, will he be facing Nadal in the final, or Federer? Also if Federer is placed on the same side of the draw as Djokovic, I would give Fed a 25% chance at taking him out (Edit: again, if he makes it to the match). Not to mention that in his current form, Djokovic also needs to watch out for the likes of Thiem and Medvedev. And don't count out Zverev.

Its impossible to be offended by anyone who actually blames God for Nadal's career.
Again, you're constantly mixing up users, on every thread. User ABC tells you that Nadal is a clay pigeon, and you attack user XYZ "hey, how dare you"... depute XYZ perhaps being a Rafa fan.

You need to argue with one "enemy of Nadal" at a time, otherwise you just end up posting hilarious non-sequiturs and attacking random users.

I think you should be more tolerant of other people's viewpoints. I don't see Nadal as fav as long as Djokovic is in the draw, simple.

And your question is about who can realistically stop Nadal and I think realistically Federer can.

You the only one who keeps replying...hard to mix up the one person replying to every post, most people accept their defeat and move on. :)

Any time a user who isn't a Rafa fanatic dares even suggest Rafa won't win something, this user goes into full attack mode.

It is amusing, true, but not constructive.
