WHO REALLY CARES WHAT THEY'RE USING???

Jeez, guys,
Everybody's so concerned and upset about whether so-and-so pro uses a real X-brand racket or a Y-brand painted as X. Get serious, are you such lemmings that just because he/she uses that racket you'll go out and buy one? There's something called demoing, and there's something called your brain--I suggest you people who are so concerned about playing with the same racket/string/tension/overgrip as a pro put the two together and figure out what works best for you!! You think Federer gives a crap what racket Agassi uses? Unbelievable, the amount of time and space wasted on this forum with people asking/guessing/arguing/getting angry about possible paintjobs. You don't buy an N-Code because Federer uses it, you buy it because you demoed it against several other rackets and chose it. Enough!

Haha, I bought my ncode without even demoing it, just because it looked cool, but now i love it! Plus Kiefer and Dent use it (Or do they?)

But yeah, you should just get a racket that suits your style.

While I agree that the arguing/getting angry is a bit much; AND I agree with buying a racquet that suits your game...considering this particular board is named "Pros' Racquets and Gear", it might become a little vacant if nobody asked or guessed and discussed about what they're using.

leog,
I agree with you, but i dont agree with companies advertising that a player uses a certain racquet when they don't.

I know that it does not matter what they use. All it matters is what fits us. But some people like the feeling of having a similar racquet to pros in their hands. It makes them feel like a better player kind of. good luck

leog, I'm 100% with you on this one. I don't give a rats behind what the pros are using, only what I'M using! Another thing, it seems like if you say anything negative about a particular racquet that someone HERE is using they go absolutely INSANE. I swear it's as if you insulted their MOTHER or something.

The large majority of people who buy tennis rackets will never play professionally, and a large percentage of those same people gain enthusiasm for the sport by admiring and even imitating or emulating their favorite pros.

With that in mind, I can definitely see how someone would feel a bit cheated when they're led to believe their favorite player is using a piece of a equipment that differs from what they are being sold. Part of appreciating what that pro does with the racket is seeing the shots they can hit with it and then going out and trying it with what you believe is the same gear and most often seeing how truly difficult it is.

Not to undermine the tremendous ability of the pros, but it really does make you wonder how much of a difference it would make if you were always playing with the same exact custom made gear, tailored to your own specifications, as opposed to something mass produced for mass sales and consumption.
