Players that have realistically more than a 1% chance: Djokovic, Nadal, Medvedev, Federer, Tsitsipas, Thiem, Zverev, Murray (if he's truly back). That's about it.

My Top 5:

1. Fed, didn't burn much for WTF, cares a lot about his Slam record so will be fresh and motivated. Won back2back a year ago.

2. Djokovic, still his "home slam" plus can't be happy about WTF.

3. Tsitsipas, will be a gap but should feel confident and he is defending SF points from last year. Can beat anyone.

4. Dimitrov, has generally done well for his standards here and finished the year pretty good. Would need good draw till QF, should have beaten Tiafoe last year. Wildcard but still great at his peak.

5. Nadal. The YE #1 and has made 2 of last 3 finals. But hasn't had many 2 year runs at the AO and looked spent at WTF. May focus more on clay this year to secure tie with Roger's Slam haul.

Looked spent at WTF by beating the guy who won?

Let's not forget that both Djokovic and Federer withdrew / were severely affected by physical breakdowns at the US Open. Nadal has had his health issues in the past as well. Given it'll be the start of the season, that injury issue likely won't loom as large. Hoping that levels the field for Federer a bit.

It’s hard to say now. No one knows how long the big 3 can keep the younger generation at bay. Djoko, Rafa and Fed will be big favourites but plenty of younger stars are now in mix.

It’s Novak’s best slam and to harbour hopes still of catching fed and Rafa he had to win it. I make Novak a marginal favourite but I see the gap narrowing now. It’s only really Nadal at FO who’s a lock for the title. Only injury can stop him there.

Rafa is going to win AO 2020 - he will be the first of the big 3 to win 2 of each Grand Slam :)
