Some people might say that Murray and Wawrinka peaked higher during this time frame. Others might say that Murray and Wawrinka beat better opponents during their big title runs. Others might pick Federer for overall numbers.

I handicapped Fed a lot by eliminating 9 of his slam-winning seasons from
2003-2012. It still looks like Fed comes out on top against these younger players.

I mean it looks pretty easily Federer. Without his 2017-2018 slams it would have to be 1 of the other 2 despite Federer owning both in H2H, but after his adding those 3 slams after many missed chances in that period, it is him easily, every stat favors him it seems besides Murray getting a YE#1 and Fed not, plus he owned both Murray and Stan.

yeah, I think you kind of have to set that aside...he was never the same after the injury and surgeries, unfortunately

We can use Murray’s 2013-16 time frame(ages 25-29), the best 4-year span of his career. Meanwhile, we will keep all of Fed’s age 31-39 stats.

Murray, 2013-16:
247-51, .829 overall
38-31, .551 vs top-10

Federer, 2013-2021:
373-77, .829 overall
63-41, .606 vs top-10

It’s much closer now. And Murray’s 2013 Wimbledon title tops anything that Federer did from 2013-21.
