Roddick's game was somewhat great on Grass and quite good on HCs, he should have done better with some higher tennis IQ, but then he wasn't, so can't say he could have been ATG but he was quite close, in a world without Federer he might have had 3 HC slams and another 3-4 wimbledons to put him on par with Becker :D but then tennis doesn't work that way, he had to beat Fed to be an ATG and he never could do anything......

Had Safin put up a better challenge to Federer then 1-2 Slams minus from Federer's resume would have benefitted Roger in developing better clutch to collect 3-4 extra slams later on ..... it is all a chain reaction

I am more sad for Safin ..... a career wasted.

He could have been the ATG from Fed gen .... totally ruined it

2 Slams is a huge underachievement, he was a 5-7 slams winner potentially

I would agree.

titles: Murray (46-32)
slams: Murray (3-1)
gold medals: Murray (2-0)
masters: Murray (14-5)
ATP finals: Murray (1-0)
weeks at number 1: Murray (41-13)
head to head: Murray (8-3)

so overall: Roddick

I think it might be the press conferences that tilt the scales.:p

Also 11 GS finals and 21 times at least in the semis. Those numbers alone give him ATG status, and are superior to what guys like Becker or Edberg put up.

Murray is in another zip code; Roddick another continent!

Aha, Fedfans are trying desperately to play up Roddick, because he's one of a very few players who have a losing record against Fed, and a winning one against Novak!
