I heard this would be the first time for Federer to win a Grand Slam without dropping a set, but who was the last one? How many Grand Slam winners didn´t drop a set in the Open era?

Gonzo or Haas might take a set or even two from Fed. Anything is possible. Fed will have two days off so he might lose some of his rhythm.

It has not happened yet. Remember a prime form Agassi reached the final of the AO in 1995 without dropping a set, before unfortunately losing one to Sampras in the final. Oh well, no shame in that.

well i guess that if it's haas he'd be happy if he could take a game not an entire set , gonzo though could take a set but i sure don't hope so ..
kinda nice that fed could complete the tournament without dropping one set ..

Federer came really close at W last year, reaching the final & winning the first 2 sets of the final before losing his 1st set of the tournament.

Federer also came close at '03 & '05 W losing only one set each time.

This really is an amazing stat, 1980? So many greats since then, who all lost at least one set during their slam wins. And Borg is just amazing, winning 3 slams without losing a set.

here are the best set stats of the open era:

I am hoping he plays Gonzalez.I dont think Haas can take a set off Roger even thought he played him well in Australia last year.
