Who do you predict will win their first ATP Tour Level Singles Title this year? Where will they win it?
My picks
Gilles Muller in Atlanta
He has suffered long enough. Been twice denied in the Atlanta final and 4 times denied in the semi final. I think this is the one he needs to take. Coming up short in Newport was heartbreaking to watch. Don't want Muller to turn into Julien Benneteau.
Dustin Brown in Stuttgart
Its grass in Germany. Whatever the tournament is, he needs to grab his title on his beloved grass. I'll be rooting hard for him come grass season.
Santiago Giraldo in Quito
Hardly ever see him in tour level tournaments but he has an affinity for clay. I'd say Quito because the field isn't so stacked, making it nice for a Cinderella run.
Yen-Hsun Lu in Chennai
field doesnt look that intense...it could happen...especially if John Isner isnt in his way this time.
Andrey Kuznetzov in St. Petersburg???
I just think he will win a tournament this year. Perhaps he will be motivated on Russian soil.
Dusan Lajovic in Umag
Dude loves clay. I like his chances in the summer clay swing.
Teymuraz Gabashvili in Houston
He likes clay and he has had a good run in Houston in the past. Maybe he can finish the deal this time around. The door is closing on him though given how often he is injured now.
Guido Pella in Istanbul
He was knocking on the door last year. I think he breaks through this year on clay.
Others? I didn't pick any young guns this year. Would not surprise me though if Taylor Fritz or Kyle Edmund snuck a title in this year.
