It's extremely close now.
- Nadal few days ago has been seen as the one... He certainly can win W (2nd favorite in my book) or USO
- Novak is in the best form and favorite at next 3 slams, but need to win 2 of 3, while Fed or Rafa dont win 1
- Federer is big enigma, he can lose in 1st round or win the whole thing at Wimbledon

My bet is off course Nova, for simple reasons I stated and because I'm his fan :)

Poll is opened for next 2 weeks

Was AO17 considered a miracle?
No. But Federer was 4 years younger and was, at that moment, in top shape and had won a slam and a couple of masters that winter/ spring. Now he comes from surgery and has been playing mediocre tennis and looks weak physically and mentally.

I really hopes they all finish on 20 but with the state of the next gen or whatever, i just don't see that happening so ill go with Djokovic. I think Federer is done at all but Wimbledon and too many players can have a hot streak on grass and Nadal is always a threat at Roland Garros but i think there a good number of rising players on hard that can beat him so yeah, Djokovic.

Yes that was great , and no Fed didn't win any master between 2015 Cincinnati and IW 17
He did went into semi of 2016 Wimbledon

I reckon Djoko will be on 25 slams by mid 2023. But as always for many reason you can't just look at slam stats to call the goat.

While Djokovic is the favorite at both slams this year:

I would pick Nadal winning #21 before I would pick any other player winning a Slam before Wimbledon '22. This is still a toss-up to me, and I know Rafa will not go down without a fight.

He won AO, IW, Miami, Halle before winning Wimbledon, no?

Quite different than two early departures from ATP250s and RG withdrawal.

Well it's either Djokovic or Nadal, isn't it. I still think Nadal has a good shot at the Slam record, but GOAT will be hard with Djokovic also having all the #1 accolades.

Djokovic would like his chances considering the next 3 Slams coming up include Wimbledon and the Australian Open. He'll give it everything he's got because it's a target that is very much in sight for him and chances are it will be quite a while before the next person breaks it / moves the bar higher

Heck it probably won't even be the same sport 10-20 years from now. Could be some best of 3, super tiebreak tennis

Federer is toast. He won't make the 2nd week of any slam from now on in. Thank god.
21 will probably come at the AO and I think it will be Djokovic.
TBH he should be thinking about 25 not 21 as he will be favourite at all slams except the FO for the immediate future.
He is a remarkable tennis player. The best I have ever seen.

Thats because he had a surgery and took a year off playing very little till his return in AO 2017.

Could easily be either of Naderer. A wounded Nadal with pressure released and a few changes will be extremely dangerous. I respect Nadal and know how incredibly good he is. And peak Federer could return in a few weeks and snatch Wimby. I will tip my hat off especially if he defeats Nole.

I like Novak's chances of winning 2 of the next 3, but I also like Rafa's chances of winning 1 of the next 3. We'll just have to see what order the wins come in.

1 RealEra™ Slam = 1.85 Modern Slams

14 x 1.85 = 25.9

So someone will need to win 26 slams to break PETE's mark o_O
Richard Sears won the first 7 U.S. Opens. No one can argue that those weren't RealEra™ Slams. So the math tells me that's approximately 13 RealEra™ slams. Now everyone knows that in the RealEra™, unlike the wussy weakera, you double your number of RealEra™ slams every time you win seven particular slams in a row. Since Sears was the first person to do that, he's at 26 RealEra™ slams. Old Ricky also won the U.S. Real Tennis championships. That's gotta count in the RealEra™ equation; heck, it's called Real Tennis. Since Real Tennis is like weakera tennis but with even more complicated rules, and Sears still managed to figure it out, it would only be fair to double his numbers again. So by RealEra™/Real Tennis slam math I come up with 52 slams to even be in consideration for GOAT. ;)

Obviously Djoker unless Fed does something magical in 3 weeks.
Nadal for me. Djokovic probably gets W unless Federer saves tennis but if Djokovic goes into USO going for CYGS he would lose to Nadal should they meet. The pressure on him in a stadium where 99pct of the New Yorkers will be on his back facing a fired up raging Nadal would see a repeat of RG2020.
USO i always had a feeling was where Nadal would do it.
Federer if he wins Halle though will be very very dangerous in W.
Djokovic fans will have a hard time if Federer won W lol.

Nadal couldn’t beat Novak in Chartrier. But he’s going to beat him in a HC slam, when he hasn’t so much as won a set against Novak in hard courts in almost 10 years?  :-D

I had a similar thought, until I remembered that Djokovic lost that uso final against Nadal in 2013. Back then I was certain that Djokovic would take that match and look at what happened…

I think that in the US Open their rivalry has been very unpredictable and I personally believe that’s the only hardcourt in the whole calendar that currently could give a little help to Nadal in their matchup. I’m not saying he would be a favorite by any means, but he would have a chance way higher than people expects.

But to be honest I don’t think this match happens this year. It will always depend on the draw and where they met each other... For a final, maybe they’ve missed this train in 2018 and 2019. I seriously think someone can take one of them at NY.
