So with Djokovic failing to make it 4 and matching nadal, do you think he still catches him at Flushing meadows or maybe even surprass him

He might catch him, but it seems unlikely he'll surpass him. US Open's combination of surface on which the youngsters can play and late stage in the season is always going to make it significantly tougher for the old guys to win from here on out.

Probably more likely to catch Federer at Wimbledon than Nadal in New York :-D

I'll give Djokovic at least one more chance to tie Nadal in Flushing! There are so many reasons why the USO has been one of the toughest events to win! It's a wonder a handful of players (Sampras, Fedalovic, Connors, McEnroe, Lendl) have multiple titles while some "greats" (Borg, Hoad) don't even have one! Even some "also rans" like Roddick, Vilas, Cilic, and Orantes have one! :sneaky:

Exactly .
Djoker might win 2 more at Wimby but it looks difficult to win 1 more at USO :sneaky:

I'd still favor a fit and healthy Nadal over Djokovic at The U.S (a big if i know!) so at worst Djokovic could tie him but don't think he'll surpass him at this stage of their careers.

You should be banned for this lol

The young guns are going to deny the USO to both of them in the future.
Even though I favor Djokovic as the GOAT, I've gone out of my way to accommodate and hoped the NG'rs would finally take over the tour by actually beating Fedalovic! It's not the Big 3's fault or problem that they've psychologically had a hold over this era of tennis, extending their tenure to 20+ years which's set more of a precedent over and above the winning of all major events year in and year out! Even way back when, the most dominant players didn't win everything; even Borg or he'd have a USO listed under his name and Sampras would have a FO crown! They had their chances; Borg on 3 different surfaces so it's on him alone! :-D :sneaky: (y)

Medvedev doesn't like playing Nadal on hardcourt, so I give Nadal a few more US Opens.
Even last year, Nadal very nearly beat Medvedev in straights sets at London, despite hardly any preparation.

MORE US Opens; plural? WTF are you talking about? Supposedly he can barely walk without pain, but you're going to give him multiple USO's before retiring? :-D :D:happydevil:

LOL it is questionable if Nadal can return strong enough to win 1 or 2 more French Opens given his health situation and you are giving him a few more U.S Opens. At age 35 to boot. Good grief.

And Medvedev is just one opponent. Even if you are right in Nadal having success vs Medvedev on hard courts in the future (doubt it), there are numerous others he would have to beat, probably atleast 3 most times to win an event.

Nadal always returns to multi-slam-winning form.
And even that sore foot still allowed him to play his longest set ever at Roland Garros (98 minute 3rd Set vs. Djokovic).

It'd be extremely sweet to see Rafa lift one last USO. That being said, I think it's more likely for Djokovic to tie up with Nadal than for Nadal to tie up with Fed. Further still, I think it's most likely they'll stay where they are at (5)-4-3

He has won 4 U.S Opens in say 12 years up to now (2008-2020, excluding last year, and the early years before he really contended in hard court majors), and you think at age 34, with a butchered body, he is going to win 3 (? a few generally applies something like 3) in a max 4-5 more years with an already butchered up body. I am being generous in the 4-5 years of playing since it could easily be 0-2 if his injuries don't heal. You are crazy
