Former Winners In Draw
Ivan Ljubicic (2006)

Look in the qualifying draw... you'll be happy to know who the number one seed is. ;)

And sorry for taking your job/glory away, vive le beau jeu. ;x

damn Murray and Kierer withdrew!!
And what's the excuse for Ancic?

Anyway,I have to go with Marcos!:p

I think you should include in the poll PimPim too.

I would if he was ranked high enough. Eight seeds + highest-ranked direct acceptance + 'other'.

oh come on Grand Slam! The guy is making a comeback! Gilles has much less chance of winning this tournament than PimPim!;)
He may have a small ranking but that doesn't mean that he's not a serious contender for the title. In fact,if every one was playing according to his ranking then the rankings order wouldn't change week in week out!:)
That's why Safin in the last 7 months has been up somewhat 100 spots!

yes, i dared to be a bit subjective in my polls... there's nothing wrong about it !
i mean... i like mathematical rules, but... simon or benneteau instead of pim-pim ? come on !!!

and for instance, if you lack of serious contenders, you always have to wonder if you add bracciali or not (for andres)... ;)

lol yeah!Sometimes it's not always the ranking that counts!;)

But lol seems that Grand Slam was proved right not to include him!:p He withdrew with shoulder injury!!

And it was such a nice draw in the begining!!Oh but that was before Almagro, Bjorkman, Henman, J.Johansson, Kiefer, Mathieu, Murray and Nieminen withdrew!!!

lol Ljubo-Lopez again!Poor Ivan ...;p

i hope marcos manages to bounce back from his bad performance at the australian open... now the pressure is away, so he has to win again ! ;)

Yes I am sure he will do better now!I hope it was a great lesson for him-and now he can deal with pressure better!;)
A good perfomance here will take him back to top20 and an excellent perfomance back to top15!:)
i'll go for Baghdatis too.

I knew you were secretly his fan too!!:p

roflmao

Oscar is my friend in Denial :/ i don't undestand why?!!??!! ;(

Ljubicic or Baghdatis big possibilities but youzhny is in with a shot the guy went quiet after davis cup win in 2002(came back from 2 sets to 0 down in 5th rubber to win) but the semi final showing in US OPEN beating nadal in quaters is quite impressive. He also did good in AO(won his first two matches in straight sets before fed beat him 6-3 6-3 7-6(5)

But yea Ljubicic with the best chance you know..he is at home.

then that's even more surprising as i thought goran and mario were good friends !

yes and they might still be-but business is business!;)

I heard from some Croats that he wanted very much to bring Murray to Zagreb but in the end Murray withdraw just 3 days before with supposed blisters!

Murray is forgetting who gave him a wild card last year...that's what happens when u go up in the rankings.

Ljubicic.

Actually all I'm rooting for is a Ljubicic-Baghdatis final. And me in the stands :-)
I also hope Karlovic can do good. He needs a good result, and it would be nice to make it in his hometown.

well it's either Ljubicic or Baghdatis but cant really decide between them especially after their last performances at the AO ..

wow... first time i see you "rooting" for marcos, isn't it ? ;)

Well.....not that I like him (which is as widely known, as your affection for Nadal :-)) but he surely can make the final more interesting than any other player against Ljubicic.
And one more reason to cheer for Ljubo :-)

Sani...I'll try.

And Oscar......wanna bet?

Daniele Bracciali or Ivan Ljubicic
Forza Daniele! This is YOUR tourney to win! You won't have those bad linecalls on 1st round again!! :D

Baghdatis Bounces Back with First-round Zagreb Win
Second seed Marcos Baghdatis shrugged off his recent early loss at the Australian Open to defeat Frenchman Florent Serra 6-2, 7-6(5) in the first round of the PBZ Zagreb Indoors Monday.

The Cypriot fired 15 aces and saved six of seven break points he faced.

Baghdatis began the season at No. 12 in the ATP Rankings but tumbled outside the Top 20 after a second-round loss to Gael Monfils at the Australian Open.

Third seed Robin Soderling advanced to the second round after engineering a dramatic 3-6, 7-6(5), 7-6(4) win over Frenchman Gilles Simon. Soderling was within two points of defeat trailing 2-5 in the second-set tie-break.

There were no service breaks in the final set and Soderling closed out the third-set tie-break with two consecutive aces. The Swede fired 13 aces and won 89 per cent of points on his first serve.

Soderling began the 2007 season confidently with a semifinal showing in Doha - where he pushed eventual champion Ivan Ljubicic to a third-set tie-break - but suffered a first-round loss to German Florian Mayer at the Australian Open.

Ivo is on fire! 6-3 and up 2-0 in the second set against Vanek. Poor Vanek. Ivo just fired 3 220 km/h bombs in a row. :-) And some pretty nice attacks coming to the net.
Who cares about Ljubicic...I want Ivo in the final!

Karlovic won!!! 6-3 6-2 Now it's Vliegen or Llodra in round 2.

Btw. I hope to catch Canas too. I last saw him play in Umag when he won in 2004. I was pretty impressed how he came back from 1-5.

Well that was a quick turnaround. Fabrice get the second and is up 2 breaks in the third. Bye Bye Willy. Looks like he's not quite back to his former level.

Wow I saw the stats from that match..
1st serve points won - 28/30 = 93%
2nd serve points won - 8/8 = 100%!!!:o
and 20 aces!!!!!!

Only 2 points lost on serve-one in each set!!!:o
This is crazy!

Haha Peya won the first set!!! Auf geht's Peya!!:)

And Marcos just broke in the second 4-2 on serve.
He managed to take the first in a tb which at least he won easily!
Dancevic plays very well.
