This made me laugh. =] I would like this to be true but by next year I am sure Clijsters will be back to usual herself..I don't doubt Henin winning two slams but I doubt her winning Wimbledon.

What do you mean when you say Clijsters will be back to her usual herself? Do you mean back to Kim choke Clijsters? My assumption would be she would be even better by next year. You dont typically expect players to be at their best in only their 3rd tournament back. IMO Clijsters exposed the current WTA group for what it really is, other than Serena who even no longer at her best is still a darn good player, pretty much otherwise thrash.

Sadly I think 2010 might be less fruitful for Serena with the negative attention she is getting now.

For christ sakes, are they doing woman's slams again next year? I thought they decided to give up on that nonsense and just have a wet t-shirt contest.

Henin isn't going to win ever single slam you guys. I think some of you are really underestimating the women pro's. They are professionals for a reason anyone of them can be beatin if somebody is on there game. Try to take that into consideration.

Nobody has picked her to win more than 2 slams. Thus your comments about people picking her to win every single slam make no sense.

Anyway just to annoy the heck out of jay144 my revised predictions:

Australian Open: Henin
French Open: Henin
Wimbledon: Henin
U.S Open: Henin

Brilliant a Henin Slam hihihi:twisted::twisted::twisted:

But seriously I think this will happen:

Australian Open: Serena (as much as I hate to say it)
French Open: Henin (she should clearly win this)
Wimbledon: Venus (I want Henin to win just like when Fed won RG but I don't think it will happen)
U.S Open: Henin (That's a tough one because soo many can actually win this but I believe Henin will beat both sisters and Clijsters)

Australian Open: Clijsters- the momentum will carry a bit longer before she comes back down to earth.

French Open: Henin or Clijsters. Depends how ready Henin is and how much Kim wants a French.

Venus: Venus or Serena. Not sure which one here.

U.S Open: Henin or Serena. Again not sure which one here.

The slamless hacks like Safina and Demented One will remain as such. Azarenka will continue to be ridiculously overhyped and produce little. Oudin will live up to some of the hype and make a few deeper runs in slams, but wont be ready to win one just yet.

Those are good selections but Clijsters for Australian Open? I dunno something tells me that some of her opponents will finally figure out how to beat her (Serena most likely).

Safina will go back to the realm of sucktitude, Dementieva will never one and I made the mistake of jumping into the Azarenka bandwagon because of Miami. She's not as good as I thought she was. Oudin I find she's a little overrated. I think some of her opponents will no longer underestimate her (Sharapova)

Serena has struggled at some point in each of her recent Australian Open wins. She hasnt faced any true chief rival other than her lapdog Maria in the 07 final and still had a few close escapes. Her having more Australian Opens than Wimbledon and U.S Opens is IMO purely coincidence and a sign she has gotten some bad luck at Wimbledon and the U.S Open (especialy U.S Open) and sometimes good luck in Australia. There is no reason she shouldnt be a great rebound ace player, however there is also no reason it should be her best surface and I still dont think it is. Circumstances just played out alot more in her favor there than say at the U.S Open up to now.

I dont think Clijsters and Serena will even play in enough of the same tournaments to figure the other out, and it is not like Kims game is that different from when she used to play so I dont see that as a factor. I think Clijsters will ride the confidence, momentum, and nothing to lose mentality for awhile before gradually beginning to buckle, especialy as the Williams get into the faster courts part of the year and Henin really hits her stride.

I agree with you on the others you mentioned. Though I think Oudin will continue to improve since she is a very hard worker and has a good head on her shoulders. Her continued improvement will not make figuring her out on a dime easy. She is overhyped by some and I dont think she will win a slam next year. However I think she will continue her rise.

Serena's 07 title I agree she got lucky if Petrova would be less of a headcase about how to close out a match properly (she also f*cked up vs Oudin this year). Now that I think of it, if it wasn't Azarenka's illness and Kuznetsova's headcase(like Petrova), Serena would of never have won this year's AO as well. 2 of her 3 AO were won based on luck lol.

Unless Clijsters plays the YEC (which I doubt will happen), Serena and Clijsters will probably never square off until AO (if it would happen).

As far as Henin goes, she'll definately have tennis rust by AO so that's why I don't believe she will win it (she'll probably lose to a pusher like Wozniacki for instance).

I dunno about Oudin, you seem to have high hopes because she has a great game (great FH, not a headcase) but she'll never win any cheap points off her serve and she seems like a terrible match up vs any pushers. Like the Radwanskas, the Wozniackis, the Jankovic (although she'll probably go down like crazy) will beat her on a constant basis I'm afraid but I might be wrong.

I agree Henin probably wont be ready to win the AO. I am not convinced on Serena winning there again either though for the reasons I and you cited. That is why I picked Kim for that event. Even a rusty Henin I expect would find a way past someone like Wozniacki though unless she improves. Henin just doesnt lose to pusher type opponents ever (Bartoli as mediocre as she is, is no pusher).

I agree Oudin would not continue to do all that great as she currently is. However I see her as a work in progress and I expect her to keep developing. Not having a great serve wont hurt her much, hardly any of the women today do.
