Who will win the next 3 majors?

If Djokovic keeps playing like this I can see him winning a major this year but he's always had too many ups and downs during the season so it's too uncertain. I think his chances at Wimbledon are underrated because he lost early last year.

I think Murray will be dangerous at Wimbledon but I don't think he will win it this year. His best chance is at the USO but I'm not sure if he will be physically at his best there. He's playing many more matches than in previous years so he could feel it when USO comes.

Nadal is the clear favourite at RG and the slight favourite at Wimbledon. The new roof at Wimbledon could hurt his chances if he plays one of the big matches on indoor grass. I don't see him winning the USO this year but it wouldn't be a disappointment.

Federer is always a contender but he needs to serve much better and cut down those UE. I think he will lose before the semifinals in one major but could win one this year.

Exactly. Not to take anything of Murray and Djokovic. Both are super talented and great players, but Murray is yet to show consistency in the slams, and Djokovic too (despite winning one). I would love for them to step it up and make Wimbly more competitive, but last year Djokovic lost to Safin in straight sets, while Murray got crushed by Nadal.

Again mindless Djokovic bashing. Youngest player ever to reach SFs of all 4 GSs is yet to show consistency in slams.

Despite empty claims, this is an attempt to take away credits from Murray and Djokovic, as usual. This guy is just like Federer. "I am not person to use excuses but I had mono and back problems"

Funny how everyone write Federer off as far as the US Open goes, totally ignoring the fact that he IS defending champion there. Murray and Djokovic couldn't beat him there before, and yet they are favorites to win there more than he is. Nadal has never made a USO final, and yet he is a favorite to win there.

Just a reminder, Federer came to the USO last year with the lowest confidence ever, after losing to Simon, Karlovic and Blake, and yet he managed to win it, conviningly. Federer may be in a slump, but one should never, ever, write him off.

I still think Nadal and Fed will be the top players in the slams.

RG - Nadal def. Federer/Djokovic
Wimbly - Nadal def.Federer
USO - Federer def. Murray/Djokovic

Federer was quite lucky to win USO 2008. Played emotionally destroyed and flat Djokovic (thank to Roddick) in the SF, and exhausted choking Murray in the F.
Should have been out against Andreev.

It won't happen again.

who are the players who could conceivably take nadal down at a slam before the final?

french i've got nothing, no player can take him down.

grass, my mind's a blank. there are players like gasquet with the talent but not the head.

uso- hot tsonga, hot del potro (he'll be another 6 months down the developmental curve remember), 2/3 from murray/ djokovic/federer (not sure who'll be no.2 come uso).

imo, nadal wins the french, it's inconceivable that anyone other than federer will beat him at wimbledon, and there are a few guys gunning for him at the USO, where Federer, if he's fit and firing, will just about be the favourite.

Tsonga under the roof >_>

I think there'll definately be a couple of dangerous players floating around at wimby, but generally I see Rafa and Fed as still being the favourites to make the final there (probably rafa to win) unless they are having an off day or meet someone on fire along the way.

USO I do lean to Fed, but there's definitely a real possibility for any of the top 4, and there will probably be pretty strong competition from the 1/4s onward

Luck has very little to do with ANYONE winning matches after matches in a tournament especially if they are best of 5. Nadal was NOT lucky to win AO, Wimbledon, FO, etc. as Djokovic was NOT lucky to win AO as well. The same goes for Fed and everyone else who have won majors or any other tournament for that matter.

Very true.
Good players get lucky, but are also able to win when luck is agaisnt them
2nd tier players can get lucky, but when luck is against them, they often loose

If I were Nadal I would be gunning for the slams like a madman, tanking whatever needs to be tanked. It is now or maybe never. Federer in slump/decline, Murray and Djoker still vulnerable at the big occasions... No one will remember him pulling from Queens or Cinci with a fake strained upper lip or something, but an Open Era Grand Slam will be there for the ages, asterisks and all.

Indeed. Luck can only take you so far. You may be lucky in one or two sets or sometimes even a whole match. But luck will not help you get through a tournament especially a AO/FO/Wimby/USO tournament. Just does not work that way.
