Who wins Nadal's 14 RG titles without him

It is just interesting to imagine how the RG titles would be distributed potentially without Nadal.

2005 French- Federer. Pretty sure on this. Can't see Puerta ever beating him.
2006 French- Federer. Again seems pretty straight forward.
2007 French- Federer.
2008 French- Federer or Djokovic. This is the first one I am conflicted on. I actually think I would probably pick Djokovic here. He would have confidence after beating Federer pretty easily in their Australian Open semi final, Federer was still recovering from mono, and Djokovic was in better form this event anyway. I am sure this one will get a lot of debate though.
2010 French- Soderling. This one seems pretty straight forward. Apart from Nadal all the competition this year was in the upper half which Soderling came through already beating Federer and Berdych in a great 5 set semi final.
2011 French- Federer. Since Federer already beat Djokovic in the semi this seems the logical result. I don't think it would be Murray, even though he was also good this year.
2012 French- Djokovic. Even though he wasn't super great this year, I have no idea who could have beaten him without Nadal.
2013 French- Djokovic.
2014 French- Djokovic.
2017 French- Thiem or Warwinka. Not sure which way to go here. It could even be Murray if Thiem and Wawrinka play in the semis and tire each other out. This is one of the few tough ones.
2018 French- Thiem. Easy.
2019 French- Thiem (Djokovic). It should be Thiem considering he already beat Djokovic in the semis in a 5 setter, although depending the rankings and the draw could see Djokovic winning if he and Thiem plays in the finals instead of the semis, since Thiem barely won by points in the semis, and his history of nerves in finals. Even though he made the semis (losing to Nadal) no way do I see it being Federer, who I don't see beating either Djokovic or Thiem, should he play them.
2020 French- Djokovic
2022 French- Djokovic

So Djokovic would be at 7 French Opens minimum with victories in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2020, 2021, 2022, but could even be 8 or even 9. That is crazy, and really shows the lack of depth in clay for quite awhile now since Djokovic is definitely not a Bjorn Borg calibre clay courter. As if some guy ending with something like 16 RG titles (no matter how incredible he is) wasn't already evidence of that.

Federer would also be at 5 or even 6 French Opens most likely.

Wawrinka would be at 2 French Opens possibly.

Thiem would be at 2 or 3 French Opens. Which also seems a lot for him to be honest.

Soderling would probably be at 1 French Open title.

He would not have won the 2022 edition, rest assured.

2005: Federer could take the juicer.
2006: Federer
2007: Federer, probably be a good one with Novak though.
2008: Djokovic, I reckon.
2010: This is an interesting one. I feel like it's going to be an Almagro-Soderling final, and it could go either way. Edge to Almagro, honestly. Big Rob was a wimp.
2011: Federer
2012: Djokovic
2013: Djokovic
2014: Djokovic
2017: Another interesting one. Not sure how much Stan had left after Sir Andy, but Thiem is still Thiem, so I say Stan.
2018: Del Potro-Diego would be interesting. If we say Diego wins then Thiem probably gets it, but I say Delpo wins, and Thiem will Thiem again.
2019: Another interesting one. How would Old Roger fare against Kei or against Goffin? Presuming he beats them and then faces Thiem without a days rest? I could honestly see Goff, Kei, Roger, or Thiem getting it. Edge to Thiem.
2020: Diego would like those finals conditions, but got to be Novak, presuming he's healthy.
2022: Probably Djokovic, but I don't that he'd have had it easy with Zverev or Felix.

This 2008 scenario would be very interesting if we consider that AO 08 stays the same. That would mean Fed had won 11 straight slams before Novak stopped him in Australia, and then potentially beating him the 2nd time in a row at Paris. 1st loss would be whatever, streak has to end sometime and he had mono. But a RG loss would then be like "WTF is going on?"

Also interesting to think about whether that would have any impact on the outcome of their USO SF the same year.

Undoubtedly. Of course this whole thing is impossible to predict. If you pulled Rafa out of the tour I don't think Fed actually wins 11 slams in a row, his entire career would be different, and certainly his rivalry with Djokovic.

Half Fed, half Djokovic and maybe one for Wawrinka and Murray and I promise you we wouldn’t hear a bleep about a “weak clay field”.

I think I would tip Puerta for 2005.

Also would tip Djokovic for 2011. Using the logic that OP used for 2019 - result in semi might not be repeated in final - the better prediction seems to be to predict the generally better player at the time.

there is the issue of the butterfly effect that makes this an impossible hypothetical to answer well, but ignoring that for giggles, I get:

2005 - Puerta
2006 - Federer
2007 - Federer
2008 - Djokovic
2010 - Soderling (maybe Federer)
2011 - Djokovic (maybe Federer)
2012 - Djokovic
2013 - Djokovic
2014 - Djokovic
2017 - Thiem (maybe Wawrinka if he avoided a long semi with Murray that tired him out)
2018 - Thiem (maybe Del Potro or Schwartzman)
2019 - Thiem (maybe Djokovic)
2020 - Djokovic
2022 - Zverev (maybe Djokovic or Alcaraz)

Zverev already beat Alc irl. Why would Rafa's absence change that outcome?

It's difficult to do predictions like this because without Nadal, the seedings would be completely different and so the draw would be very different as well.

French open is not given, Ferrer, Schwartzman, may Del portro and few others also would have a good chance. You guys are overacting Federer and Djokovic to clean sweep.
