If they both made the finals who would fed prefer to win? I think most of us can agree he doesn't like djokovic,probably doesn't want him to get the career slam or beat nadal at RG something he's never accomplished but on the other hand if nadal wins he gets closer and closer to his slam record?

Imo, Federer doesn't want Nadal to win another Grand Slam, and I think he would congratulate Djokovic if he did it, and actually mean it, and probs say sorry about the comment afterwards.

LOL you are living in a fantasy world. They haven't liked each other since 08 or maybe earlier.
Fed didn't like when djokovic was imitating player and himself in particular, when djokovic beat fed in AO 08 the djokovic family said something like "the king is dead" in 08 MC fed told djokovic family to "shut up" and a lot more so it's not just recent. But I would say djokovic too, If nadal gets the slams record the GOAT debate is over imo.

Yeah, I believe he respects him and enjoys his company, but....
IMHO, Fed wouldn't want Nadal to catch up to his grand slam record... maybe him winning one more was going a little to far, just as long as he doesn't break it.

Federer has and always has been a Djokovic hater. He even criticized Nole's fake injury in public recently. On the contrary, he adores his master Nadal.

Fed's recent criticism was of the media coverage...not Nole himself. And also I think he's much more concerned with his own opportunities at the French. Were he pressed I'm sure he'd say he doesn't really care at this point. If he were retired already, maybe that's a different story and he'd want Nole...but right now he is probably much more focused on retaining enough points to be a high seed at Wimbledon and US Open so he has opportunities there.

True, and why not since Nadal has always spoken respectfully and deferentially ("he's the best") towards Fed and who showed genuine compassion and empathy when Fed had his meltdown during that Aussie Open awards ceremony--a class gesture by Nadal not to leave his biggest rival (and friend) to "stand out there alone" in full view of thousands there and millions watching on TV during Fed's darkest emotional moment …and furtrher, to selflessly do so during what normally would've been "Rafa's moment" - being awarded the champion's trophy.
A very sporting gesture by Nadal and a heartfelt generousity of spirit that I guarantee you wouldn't see from a number of players. And I don't say that because they wouldn't be capable of the same compassion but because many of them wouldn't know what to do. For Nadal, it wasn't hard to figure out what to do in that situation because he, Nadal, let his own feelings guide him: his feelings of genuine fondness for Fed and don't think that Fed didn't lose sight of that….both then and now as the years have passed by.
And (some personal, "clear-the-air" comments): while I very much like Fed, Nadal and Djoko, it is those moments like that at the Aussie Open that have turned me off reading the Nadal-sniping by the fedfanboys. You did it to Roddick back in the day by mocking him at every turn and you've done it with Nadal, denigrating and insulting him as well. Are there Nadal and Djoko dbags as well? Of course, but they've been pretty much reactionary given the fact that since Fed's been the kingpin of tennis for a longer stretch of time (stretching from Roddick into the period of Nadal's ascent up the ranks) that they've been greater in numbers and have positioned themselves from a standpoint of aggression. And that's not to mention the "drag-the-retired-Sampras-out-of-the-woodwork" to take their potshots at him as well.
I will admit that I too was guilty of taking potshots at Nadal when he first came on the scene, not because of Rafa himself but because of the 24/7 hyping of him that a previous poster plastered the board with: this was a person who ran a Rafa website. My only problem was that this Rafa guy hadn't really won much, that he hadn't yet paid his dues like Sampras had done and like Federer was in the midst of doing. It was more a reaction against the premature hype and not so much Rafa himself.
Well now that Nadal's more than proven that he's up their with the highest of the all-time greats, I ask this question to any and all you fanboys: NOW what the hell's your problem? In asking this question, I won't hide behind some vague "you know who you are" comment in addressing this question--no, I will direct my comment directly to those trolls (not including the "children" e.g. fuzzyballs, sbgate, Freebird, etc., they don't even count). I'm directing that "NOW what the hell's your problem?" question to the sneering, mocking trolls whose "one-trick-pony" act is all about either mocking or marginalizing anyone not named Roger Federer in every other post of theirs: tennis pro, TFM, WhiskeyEE, monfed, povl, mcenroeisanasrtist, et al (Senti, much as I love you, you could possibly be included on occassion, 'cept you're not as 'black-hearted' as winstonplum above referred to). : )

Obviously RNadal as RFedrer prefers him to NDjokovic. Although we (as fans) would like the record to be safe, I don't think he cares at all. He already knows he is one of the best to play the sport.
100% Djokovic. His only record over Nadal is the slams and wtfs (the latter is probably less relevant than Nadal's masters record).......ok weeks at number 1 but that's quite frankly clutching at straws...just a function of your competition and concentrated dominance. He wants to protect his record so his philosophy is if not me then anyone other than Nadal. And who'd blame him for it ? not me. I'm not a fan of either but I'd prefer Djokovic to win too to make RG more interesting and also I don't want Nadal taking all of Fed's records. If Nadal ends up just short in slams, with fewer weeks at number 1, but leads in masters and OG and h2h then they'll be thought of as co-goats which for me is the correct interpretation of the era. And Djokovic may get in there too with Murray just a little bit behind.

I’ll go against the grain on this one, too.
At the outset, I don’t think that, either way, Federer is anywhere near as “legacy” conscious as some of his more rabid fans.
If he were, though, I think he might be inclined to look at the long-term vs. the short-term on this one. Another guy from this era winning a career slam would make the achievement itself look more “watered down”. In the long-term that might mean a greater hit to Federer, legacy-wise, than Nadal winning yet another Roland Garros, even if doing so would but him closer to Fed’s overall slam count.
Again, though, I highly doubt something like this enters the mind of the players themselves.

a true champion is one who never fears about somebody breaking his record or somebody setting a record too high for him......if you fear about the possibility of your record being broken by others or about the possibility of you not getting to a record, it means you are accepting that your record does not stand on its own......
so i will leave it for fed fans to decide who federer might prefer winning roland garros if it's between nadal and djokovic......

He does not want Nadal to surpass his slam record but he probably also does not want Djokovic to beat Nadal at the FO, something he could never do and at the same time have Djokovic complete the career slam. Another player from his era completing a career slam would cheapen the accomplishment and make it seem less special.
