Who would have won each year had Nadal and Djokovic faced each other at the USO?

The H2H between Nadal and Djokovic at the USO is something that is mentioned quite often by Nadal fans, and the hard court H2H overall is something mentioned quite often by Djokovic fans.

So, if they had faced each other every year at the USO instead of just 2010, 2011 and 2013 who would have won?

Let's start from 2007 which was Djokovic's first year as a top player and finish in 2022 which was Nadal's last year as a top player (unless something drastic happens).

2007:
2008:
2009:
2010: Nadal
2011: Djokovic
2012:
2013: Nadal
2014:
2015:
2016:
2017:
2018:
2019:
2020:

2022:

These are all arguments to prove you like your guy better. Face it. These two played only 3 times. Not each year.

And 2011 Nadal was injured. You can see it by the slower walk to his bottles at 2-1 in second set. Clear injury.

Without injury Nadal has never lost a match at the USOpen.

That and Olympics, I wonder why?
He has barely few things left over Djokovic. This H2H is pure bs argument.

Only two things he has left is RG title count and og.

He has nothing else over Nole anymore. While Nole is far better in every measurable stat now. So his fans will keep fighting like an injured bull.

leaving out years where one was not a top player would involve leaving out not just 2005, 2006 and 2023, you'd also have to leave out 2015-2017, so I cba with that

2005: Nadal
2006: Nadal
2007: Djokovic
2008: Djokovic
2009: Djokovic
2010: Nadal
2011: Djokovic

2017: Nadal
2018: Djokovic
2019: Nadal
2020: no idea / don't care
2021: Djokovic
2022: Djokovic
2023: Djokovic

Overall: 10 - 8 to Djokovic. Nadal with the higher peak, Djokovic with the higher pre-prime and post-prime. Even in titles seems about right tbh although 4 is an inflation for both relative to PETE and Fed having 5 (they are both far clear of Djokodal) and Mac having 4 and Agassi having 2 (who should both have more titles than them too)

OK.

But it's 2>1.

2005: Both R3, and tough to say either way. Plus, neither would've gotten close to the title.
2006: Same, but I'm leaning Djokovic - lost to Hewitt instead of Youzhny - but I'm biased. Same as 2005.
2007: Djokovic clearly.
2008: Djokovic. Despite 2 SFs, Djokovic was closer to beating Federer than Murray got, and Murray beat Nadal.
2009: Djokovic. Again 2 SFs, but Federer-Delpo was dead even, and Djokovic lost to Fed in 3 close sets (1 break) compared to Nadal losing to Delpo with 2 breaks per set.
2010: Nadal (it happened)
2011: Djokovic (it happened)
2012: Djokovic (kinda unfair to mention times Nadal didn't even play due to injury)
2013: Nadal (it happened)
2014: Djokovic (same as 2014)
2015: Djokovic
2016: Djokovic (2015 and 2016 were self explanatory)
2017: Nadal (again, not fair when bringing up injury withdrawals)
2018: Djokovic
2019: Nadal (same as 2017)
2020: Djokovic
2021: Djokovic (2020-2021 Nadal didn't play much, pretty much Djokovic by default)
2022: Nadal by default, but Djokovic if he could enter the country
2023: Djokovic

Props to Nadal for winning the real life H2H instead of the hypothetical one though.

I'd say the only real years that they were both competitive for (not injured or both out of slam winning form) were 2007-2011, 2013, kinda 2015-2016 (no injury, but consistent drop in form for a time), and 2018. Then there were the last few years but Nadal's been a part time player.

I’m sorry but this is a very unobjective post. You seem to be confusing Bull with Roger Federer. Bull is indeed unbeatable but this is not a hypothetical matter; rather, it is a moral truth. Bull might have lost some hypothetical matches in his time but he has never and will never lose a moral point.

Giving Nadal 2012 is not generous at all, it’s generous to give it to Djoker. It was windy in the final 2 rounds of the tournament - particularly in the final, which predictably led to Djoker playing like an ass vs Murray. Had Ned been around, he unquestionably would have finalled as he did the 3 years either side of 2012, and would have certainly coped with the wind better than Djoker. No more mental block as well after AO 12 and RG 12

2014 is pure speculation on my part though I will admit. I find it hard to give Djoker the win with his breathing issues and the fact he even lost to his pigeon. But I’m also assuming Ned hasn’t started his 2015 slump by this point

Think 08 or 18 could go either way. Assuming both are healthy and play every year.

I was being a bit generous towards Nadal tbh because I thought I was making it too lopsided.

I do think Nadal would be a bit of a favorite in 2012 (slightly), but 2020 it can go either way. Nadal does great at the USO usually when he is on form and he played great at RG.

Pretty huge majority for Djokovic even if we give him the benefit of a doubt in 2012.
