Who would win?

To those who have actually seen these guys play.

1. David Nalbandian
2. Marcelo Rios
3. Murray
4. Marc Rosset
5. Martin Verkerk
6. Cedric Pioline
7. Sebastian Grosjean
8. Magnus Larsson (sorry guys, I just had to put a Swede in this one)

Surface: fast indoor carpet!

If these guys were to play the YEC, and everyone brings their A-game, who do you think would come out on top and why?

I would bet on a final between seeds 1 and 4, and go for a tight win for Bellyndian.

I cant see anyone else but Nalbandian winning if he played his best ala paris 07. However his best vs any of the other plays best would be very very close.

Fatbaldian would win, beating Murray or Grosjean in the finals.

However, I would love to see a Nalbo vs Rios match...they would be up in the stands with the angles generated.

if we are talking about prime... than Nalbandian beats everyone 6-0, 6-0 golden bagel no points lost. I mean against Fed 05 MC final 3- 5th sets had like 6-2,6-1, 4-0, against Fed playing like GOAT

Have you seen Rosset and Larsson at their best? Both had huge serves, could volley quite wel, and Larsson's fh was devastating. Nalbandian at his very best would probably win, but 60 60? You are entitled to your opinion, and I respect that.

In the extremely hypothetical situation that has Rios hitting his very best shots point after point after point, I'd give the nod to Rios, yes. But that's not how a tennis match works.

Rios has flashes of epic brilliance, but they were off-set by low-percentage play, shanks, and lack of interest all in the same match. Rios at his best had a few more flashes of epic brilliance than usual, but was still plagued by his short-comings. Nalbandian at his best isn't quite as jaw-dropping, but his game is much more solid.

Rios would win if every single point came down to sitting overheads, running half-volley forehand lobs, around-the netpost-passing-shots, and drop volleys off 100-mile-an-hour drives that travel parallel to the net. However, nobody ever plays a match that's two-hours' worth of highlight reel footage, and (sadly) that's all that Rios ever was.
