Who would you like to see win a grand slam?

They can't have won a grand slam in the past two years, so you can't cant choose federer, nadal or djokovic.

I'd like to see verdasco win a grand slam

well, interesting thought, but for me if i get the chance to rub a magic lamp, id give a wimbledon to John Isner.

But if im only able to help said player a little bit, or they had to be top 25 or so, id give it to roddick.

Ivan Ljubicic... the guy has had the worst luck of any of today's players. He deserves it, and it's time to GET IT!:)

No mention of Nalbandian yet? He's a joy to watch if he's putting it all together.

After that Roddick perhaps.

The younger guys can wait =p

Hope he makes a full comeback next year, hip surgery really did him in this year.

sorry zag, i must have skipped over that D:

I hope he does make a succesful comeback too; I'd like to employ some wishful thinking and believe that the rehab process might see him get into somewhat better shape...but we'll see.

Roddick to win a 2nd
Gonzalez maybe to win one, but atleast to win a Masters title
Davydenko
Haas
Murray but he obviously will win multiple at some point

For the women:

Dementieva
Safina
Clijsters to win a 2nd, 3rd, or even more

That is all.

In terms of first time slam winners, I'd like to see Del Potro grab one, as well as Haas and Monfils.

I want Roddick to win a second slam.

Murray, Tsonga, Del Potro.

I want more Slam champs vying for titles.

Every tennis generation has its huge stars who are either GOAT candidates (Sampras, Fed, or example), or who are simply players who are recognized as one of the "greats" regardless of rank (Lendl, Connors, Mac, Edberg, Agassi, Becker, just to name a few).

Beyond that, most tennis generations have an extremely tough "second tier" of players who make Slam finals and win a Slam or two (Stitch, Kafelnikov, Korda, Rafter, for example). Having these guys makes Slams much more interesting. I think Murray, Tsonga and Del Potro could be one of these guys (Not to say they couldn't do more, especially Murray).

Because Fed has been SO dominant and Nadal has picked up the majority of non-Fed Slams, other than Roddick, this generation really hasn't developed that second tier. No doubt there are great players, but having them actually be Slam champs makes it a little bit different.

Richard Gasquet, would really like to see him win the a slam after all the shiz-nit he's faced so far in his short career. Other top choices are Murray, Wawrinka and Verdasco.
