Who would you rather see in the WTF? Wawrinka or Gasquet?

Who would you want to see in the World Tour Finals?

G.O.A.T.
I'm predicting it will be pretty much a fight between those two for the 8th spot. Unless Federer screws up and drops out of the top 8 (which actually could happen if he's losing to people like Stakhovsky and Robredo in slams).

Anyway who would you rather see? My vote goes to Wawrinka. I like both of their games but Wawa's a bit more because he hits more aggressive instead of the loopy forehands Gasquet usually hits. I really like Wawrinka's game and it would be so cool if he could finally step out of Federer's shadow. I'm very happy he's improving even at his age.

Does anyone know if it would be the first time for them to play the WTF?

I read somewhere that France used to be a tennis powerhouse, so I'd like to see Richard G. get there. Also I've heard positive things about his game-somebody called him "baby Federer".

Realistically, Wawrinka is the better choice as he's capable of actually pulling off upsets against the favourites as he showed so well today

Wawrinka.

It seems to me that Wawrinka is pushing through to the top. His game against Murray was very impressive.

Wawrinka.
Both of guys have great backhands.
But wawrinka has better forehand.
This is what will happen in WTF.

1. Nadal
2. Djokovic
3. Murray
4. Ferrer
5. Berdych
6. Federer
7. Del potro
8. Wawrinka or gasquet.

Both. Fed out. And I am one of the biggest Fed fans here. He needs a break. These guys are putting in good effort. They deserve it.

Either player would be okay. They are very similar in terms of career results. Although I'd love to see Gasquet make it back to the top 8 after falling out for so long.

If it wasn't for his weak sauce fitness, he probably would have plenty of upsets like both of his 5 set failures against Murray.

I will be hilarious if Fed barely makes it as a sub and then eliminates number one ranked Nadal as always at WTF.

Historically, I'd say Gasquet, but it's got to be Stan the Man right now. All year long he's been sending out the message that he's ready to challenge the top guys and he's backing it up. Gotta have a guy like that at the WTF.

Can't see Gasquet following up on his USO result, seems to be more of a swan song situation. Good results for Richie, anyways.

heres what i would like(realistically speaking)
1. Nadal
2.Djokovic
3.Murray
4.Ferrer
5.Berdych
6.Federer
7.Delpo
8.Gasquet

Both, no Fed. I'd actually rather Fed make it and Berd or Ferrer withdraw. If Ferrer withdrew that could be the greatest WTF in awhile.

To OP, Gasquet made it in 2007. Pretty sure he went 0-3 but won the first set in every match (vs. Nadal, Novak and someone else?)

I think Gasquet has advanced a bit in terms of mentality vs. top players, and he's right on par with Stan. They'd both play great in London. I think Gasquet will make it.

Fed should be banned from the WTF. He is like 1-46 against top players this year. Would be an automatic W for his opponents.

And Tacou, Gasquet beat Djoker in the WTF in 07, lost his other two matches.

Wawrinka. Nadal is the only player he's not capable of beating. Against Murray, Berdych, Del Potro, Ferrer, Tsonga he would actually have a good chance.

Gasquet would get a guaranteed 0-3 in matches in his group.

Everyone beat Djokovic at the WTF in 2007.

I have to agree with you on this one. There are a lot of players I would rather watch on indoor hard courts than Ferrer.

Gasquet is one of my favorites, but I'm starting to lean towards Wawa. He's never been to the WTF unlike Gasquet, IIRC. So, a Top 8 finish for Stan The Man will be fine by me.

Wawrinka. Gasquet has already had his turn.

It would be nice for Federer to skip the WTF and end the year #9. I'd really enjoy seeing Federer-Nadal in the 4th round of AO 2014.

Both. Fed should be kicked out.

Sadly, that's fairly unlikely. Federer is defending a final in Basel and a semi-final in Shanghai. Even if he loses early in both, he'd have enough to at least be in the top 8.

However, if he loses every match in the World Tour Finals, he'd lose another 800 points, and thus have a chance at slipping out of it (and probably not be able to qualify in 2014, if he does not score higher next year).

You might be right here Forzamilan. Maybe he'll need a break for 3 months at least and get his game back. He needs to recuperate physically and mentally and go back to top 4.

The top 4 is not balanced without him. Hope he gets his game together soon.

Vamos Roger !!
