Who's outfits are great and who's aren't?

Just when I thought nobody can possibly beat Adidas’ misstep in apparel design this year (poop stain anyone? Nonsensical Hieroglyphics? Miami Vice orgasms?), Nike shows up in a Roman gladiator inspired mess that defies any common sense.

The Shapo - Rublev match had this color issue. I think that Rublev started the match in white and then changed to red and white like Shapo.

There was one womens match where both wore green and white.

I wish that they would color coordinate before the match.

I'm not a fan of the Nike pattern. I have bought many Nike TechKnit shirts but I didn't like the patterns a few years ago and stopped buying them.

This is easily the WOAT era in clothing design. I have a bit of respect for Lotto and ASICS 2022 offerings but they are the chasers brands, trying to establish themselves vs big boys Nike and Adidas, who have tag teamed for a decade as to which team can stumble worse.

Thanasi' s shorts were atrocious. They were underwear and should only be worn under pants or leggings.

Denis' shorts are laughable.

Lacoste are by far my favourite label. I think they consistently produce quality outfits and a lot of their designs have a classy, understated look to them. Kontaveit always looks great. Medvedev too a lot of the time.

It doesn't work so well for Djokovic imo, I think mainly because of his fits. He's a skinny guy with a long torso and he wears slim fitted shirts which don't flatter him.
Medvedev by contrast, another skinny and lanky guy, tends to wear slightly bigger/oversized shirts which bring a much needed width to his frame. Djokovic also sometimes eschews the traditional Lacoste designs and go for more audacious prints( not the one pictured below), to his detriment in my view.

Some Lacoste prints from over the years:

I agree that Lacoste has had some great designs. But for 2023, Nike has made a comeback and has some attractive clothing lines as well, which wasn't the case the prior year. I especially like their choice of brighter colors for players like Sinner, Alcarez, Bencic and Sabalenka. On the downside, my favorite clothing line, Fila, hasn't had any particularly noteworthy designs this year so far.

Disagree with the slim fitted shirts Novak wears. It's quite the opposite. I don't like slim fit on bulky frames. Makes people look like a Christmas ham. If you have a tall lanky, yet muscley build, slim fit is the way to go. Lacoste is by far the classiest of all tennis brands.

But I also think that Djokovic's kits have always been great. Even with Uniqlo.

But Djokovic doesn't have a muscly build. Not close to it. That's the problem. He is in fact a toothpick.
Do you not think Medvedev, another toothpick, has better fits?

Funnily enough, Novak did have baggier fits earlier in his career. This here in 2009 looks far better to me than any of the slim shirts and slim shorts he sports now( Notice I'm just talking about the size of the clothes here and not necessarily the design). You don't want to go too baggy of course, because that's no good either, but a little oversized on a skinny body is just perfect imo.

Watching Djokovic vs. Fucsovics right now and marveling how the (mostly) solid colors of Lacoste look in comparison with the stripes and swoops of the Hydrogen outfit that Marton is wearing. Both are eye-catching, but Nole looks so sharp.

it seems like a shade of green is the color for the summer hard court season this year. nishikori-green uniqlo, svitolina-green adidas kit and azarenka green nike kit. Even the new yonex percept is a shade of green.

Has anyone seen Osaka's jacket at the Open? Maybe she was trying to play tribute to Michael Jackson...

Coco Gauff’s yellow outfit is the best at AO 2024.
( And how great is it that it is so unique — no “me tools” hanging around ).
Fantastic job, New Balance!
