Yannick Noah???

Agree. Edberg, Sampras (i think), and Becker never won the French. Nadal is the best player on clay period. A serve and volley game does not work the best on clay IMO. But, Nadal is the best at putting the points away a net on clay.

Whos the best serve and volley player on clay from the open era?

Not sure I understand the question..

Are you asking us which serve and volley player performed best at Roland Garros (so regardless whether they played a serve and volley game at RG)..??

Or are you asking us which player played the best serve and volley game at RG?

Well I'm not a rocket scientist myself but if you don't understand the question then you shouldn't be reading this forum. It's a simply question simply put. Where did I mention Roland garros?

Panatta for sure. Too bad he was more intersted in women and alchool than in tennis. But in doing so he had a lot of fun.

Adriano Panatta.
I would go with Panatta also and Noah would be second. It would be interesting to see the stats on the French Opens of 1976 and 1983 to see how often they served and volleyed. My first thought was Panatta was the superior serve and volleyer to Noah on clay.
