Thiem, but not for long. Coronavirus just delaying the inevitable Thiem takeover

I can’t see Thiem being a dominant player. He’ll probably win a couple/few slams and maybe get to world number one but I don’t think he’ll ever be the guy to beat for an extended period of time.

Agreed. I just meant "takeover" as in him ousting the Big 3 and fulfilling his destiny as RG champ and World #1.
NextGen is hot on his heels, though, so I don't expect him to hang around at the top for too long.

Thiem may very likely miss his window if Rafa and djoker continue their level for another 2 years or so, because by then, the young guys will hopefully of made some major strides.

Nadal is the reigning champ at 2 of the majors and was year end number one last year. He’s easily the second best player as of now. I’d probably still take 39-year old Federer over Thiem it I’m being honest.

Until Thiem finds the ability to win a big title match, I can’t put him up there with the big boys. Among the slams, Masters, WTF, and OLY, Thiem has lost 6/7 finals in tournaments at this level.
