Henin is like Hingis plus top notch power, athleticsm, and mental fortitude, none of which Hingis possessed. I love watching both because they are a departure from the run of the mill top female player today, but one that combines that special type of game with the modern game is even better. If Henin gets healthy again I think she can still dominate, Serena's AO win did not impress me particularly, I have already stated I thought it was a best of a bad lot sort of win, watching the final three rounds of all the woman struggling with their games. The healthy Henin of last year could have taken it all I believe.

The Williams sisters are better than Henin-Hardenne. Sure she's beaten Serena a couple times, but Serena has gotten the best of her. Venus leads like 7-1 in the h2h.

Serena didn't play her best, but she didn't need to. The Williams of 2002/2003 is better than Henin at her best and so is Venus, coz she's given her the smack down more than a couple times.
Serena vs. Justine head to head:
2001 US OPEN HARD (O) R16 S. WILLIAMS 7-5 6-0
2001 SANEX CHAMPIONSHIPS HARD (I) Q S. WILLIAMS 6-3 7-6(5)
2002 BERLIN CLAY (O) F J. HENIN-HARDENNE 6-2 1-6 7-6(5)
2002 ROME CLAY (O) F S. WILLIAMS 7-6(6) 6-4
2002 LEIPZIG CARPET (I) S S. WILLIAMS 6-4 6-2
2003 CHARLESTON CLAY (O) F J. HENIN-HARDENNE 6-3 6-4
2003 FRENCH OPEN CLAY (O) S J. HENIN-HARDENNE 6-2 4-6 7-5
2003 WIMBLEDON GRASS (O) S S. WILLIAMS 6-3 6-2

Venus vs. Justine head to head:
2001 BERLIN-GERMAN OPEN CLAY (O) R16 J. HENIN-HARDENNE 6-1 6-4
2001 WIMBLEDON GRASS (O) F V. WILLIAMS 6-1 3-6 6-0
2001 NEW HAVEN HARD (O) Q V. WILLIAMS 6-3 5-7 6-2
2002 GOLD COAST HARD (O) F V. WILLIAMS 7-5 6-2
2002 ANTWERP CARPET (I) F V. WILLIAMS 6-3 5-7 6-3
2002 AMELIA ISLAND CLAY (O) F V. WILLIAMS 2-6 7-5 7-6(5)
2002 WIMBLEDON GRASS (O) S V. WILLIAMS 6-3 6-2
2003 AUSTRALIAN OPEN HARD (O) S V. WILLIAMS 6-3 6-3

I sure would like to see Hingis back in the top 5. Who knows. Women's tennis needs Justin Henin/Hingis all-court style back. This ping-pong style, hit or miss, power tennis can be pretty lame when it's not played well.

I enjoy watching Henin play b/c I like to see the "little guy" or gal beat the big gal at their own game. With regards to the records against the Williams' sisters, at this point, she hasn't won enough to claim to be better than them. However, I am impressed by how she has conditioned and built herself up to hit toe to toe w/ the sisters; I only hope that she recovers from this mono/CMV virus. Losing a lot of match time is tough on the confidence and that was one of her strengths.

The claim that some make that SErena only lost b/c she played 20% of her best etc is bogus. That's like saying she only won b/c she played 200% of her best or b/c she played a choker in the final? If you're well enough to walk on the court, the result speaks for itself. If you can only give 20% of your game, then default and stop making excuses!

That lack of match confidence has affected her and Venus. Venus has been deeply affected by this and has lost a few tough matches because of that. But she's still pretty competitive even when she's not at her best. Currently, I don't see her as "done", but I see her as a shadow of her former self, in which everyone can work their way out of slumps. Henin-Hardenne looked to be in good form towards the end of 2004, but had a disappointing loss against Petrova at the open. Women's tennis will get more exciting if Serena keeps playing well, and as long as Venus and the Belgians become 100% again, then we'll see a really competitive top 10.

Most of Venus = JHH and Serena - JHH were played when Venus and Serena were at the top while Justine was still imporving. This is like a Federer - Hewitt of early days when Hewitt dominated their matchups. What happened now? Hewitt can barely stay close with Roger.

very tough call, but i still like watching the way hingis constructs points. i loved her short inside out forhand. she also knows how to volley, which is always a treat with todays womens game.

Dont you dare try to drown me in statistics Andy Zuruela! If we go by statistics of the last year they all point to Venus struggling forever to make the top 10 again where as you think she will get to 1 and dominate Serena, Sharapova, et al! Yes I think Henin at her best would have dominated the last year, because she was only getting better, and Serena and Venus did not return to anything resembling peak form.

The new Henin started to emerge in the spring of 2003. She is 2-1 against Serena since then, and has not played Venus since then.

This question can't be for real. There is absolutely no comparison between Henin and Hingis. Henin is a warrior that goes for her shots. Hingis is a coward that hopes her opponents will miss when it matters most.

Great! You would ask about these two: Henin cheats. Hingis (had) a rotten attitude. Two of my least favorite traits in tennis.

But Henin's strokes and shots are much preferred over Hingis'. (Now if you could just keep her from cheating....)
