Why are there not many American or ATP players with tattoos?

I can't think of any American or Canadian players with tattoos.

The are Europeans (Italian, Spanish, British), Australians, Latin Americans players with tattoos.

Culture and MAYBE even interpretation of religion. A lot of Europeans are Catholic Christians but to them Christianity probably doesn't mean conservatism, whereas Christianity gets interpreted quite differently in the US, and a lot of well-off Americans who happen to be able to play tennis might happen to be Christians

Just a really WILD guess though and correct me if I'm wrong.

Far as I’m aware this isn’t the case. Some of them have hidden ones. Think it’s a cultural difference.

In the US, tattoos are loosely inversely correlated with economic class. And the top tennis players almost invariably come from money.

In other countries, those correlations still exist, but the former is more blurred, in my experience.
Yeah, tons of tats in the NFL and NBA, not so much in tennis and golf. And there's a huge thread in pro gear about how sleeveless is low class, I imagine tats would be lower than sleeveless for the OP of that thread.

Has there been a player with a face tat? That would be epic.

Which player would look good with a face tat?

Often the most insecure folks get them - "i have a boring personality but look at my tattoos!!!" - and Kyrgios is the most insecure personality in tennis!
Though his is pokemon, so kind of confusing, because he'll be picked on a lot for it...

I think it's because his Mom (a computer engineer) is a Pokemon game player. He and fellow players once played Pokemon too.

I played Pokemon as a kid. I don't have a Pokemon tattoo. I also ate a lot of McDonald's cheeseburgers growing up. Don't have a McDonald's tattoo. Cool if you like it. The rest of us are laughing.

His tattoo is hilarious and says a lot about his (lack of) taste. He's lucky that Nike gives him all of that smooth, pricy athleisurewear to rep all the time. Saves us from whatever visual blight he would throw at us otherwise. I bet he'd look like one of those Soundcloud rappers with the acid-washed skinny jeans. Maybe even another Island Boy.

In Australia they say bogan people like tattoos.

But there are many high class rich people in the world like tattoos too, such as David Beckham, Messi, Ariana Grande. I guess in celebrity world it's like some sort of a prestige to have tattoos?

All those folks are nouveau riche. They don't come from generational wealth. In the US tattoos popularity comes and go's. Still very popular on the coasts and rockies.

Boomers having a blast judging young women for their appearance in this thread. My sister has a yattoo, and some people here would basically call her a [bad word].

Men without suits are more trustworthy.

I want to be clear that I am not judging people with tattoos. I'm dating one right now. I like her and respect her just fine.

I am definitely judging Kyrgios, though. And since he otherwise deserves scorn, I'm happy to admit it.

Even people in their 30s are boomers if they disagree with you.

To be honest boomers are in 70s now and this is cope by many to call someone a boomer or out of the time period.

But judging people with tattoos especially saying you would distrust women with tattoos is a very "boomer" take.

It doesn't just stand for the age, it colloquially stands for the backwards mindset too.
