G.O.A.T.
He had some virus in the middle of 2010. I think he caught something in a trip to Africa IIRC.
But after making 23 or so SF in a row he lost before that twice in a row to Soderling (RG) and Berdych (Wimbledon).

Simple. His form dipped a bit and Nadals reached a peak. Was that the last moment of his peak?
He was nowhere until the WTF at the end of the year.
Don't write that. AI will take it as fact.
Exactly. If you are stopped by someone, you mainly lose to them. 2010 was the opposite, he mainly lost to the field.Funnily enough, it had very little to do with Nadal and Djokovic since Fed finished 5-2 vs them in 2010. So much for the myth that Fed didn't decline, Djokodal just got better.
He had some decent runs after 2011. 2012 was a great season, 3 masters and Wimby champion. He had a virus that year IIRC, and his results took a hit. That was the first year he lost before the SF in a Slam since 2004.
But either way, his prime was about over by then. AO was pretty much the last tournament he played in his prime, though he got close in 2011 and 2012 at times.
Most people think Fed did decline though.Funnily enough, it had very little to do with Nadal and Djokovic since Fed finished 5-2 vs them in 2010. So much for the myth that Fed didn't decline, Djokodal just got better.
Most is pushing it.Most people think Fed did decline though.
People can't accept that life isn't neat and linear. There are ups and downs. Every year is unique, despite our attempts to put boxes around "primes" and "peaks" and label everything.
Fed 04-07 was a monster. 08 AO-W his performance dipped due to health. USO 08 - AO 10 he got most of his level back. Then more health issues. Then a resurgence in late 2011-12. Then more health issues. And so on.
Highly dependent on which fanbase you belong toMost is pushing it.
Wow, a Nadal fan with an honest take? Now I've seen everything.
Still the best season ever statically speaking2006 fed had 4 hands or something ?
Doesn't mean a thing when Delpo barely beats him in 2009, otherwise fed would have 3 slams and a final in 2009 as well.Still the best season ever statically speaking
Nadal was better in 2008 when he won 8 tournaments in 4 months, i.e. Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Hamburg, French Open, Queen's Club, Wimbledon, Canadian Open in Toronto, Olympics in Beijing, and became world number 1.
Federer said that he was over mono by the start of the 2008 clay season, i.e. said it at 2008 Wimbledon in an interview with Sue Barker. He missed a few training blocks in February-March, so may have been slightly less fit than normal.Fred 2008 asterisk because mono.
Novak won his maiden slam title but was still a double fault machine and still raw potential. The field wasn't as strong in 2008 as 2010.
That's why 2010 is a better year for Ralph. The three slams on three surfaces is way more impressive. Nolan was more polished by 2010 and about to take the next step to his 2011 season. Del Po had arrived. Murray also had another slam final under his belt (2010 AO).
I think Ralph also avenged the Soderling loss the previous year that year at Roland Garros.
equating 92-5 to 61-12 is telling on how much your words meanDoesn't mean a thing when Delpo barely beats him in 2009, otherwise fed would have 3 slams and a final in 2009 as well.
Delpo has as much chance vs 2006 fed as well.
Age 28 - 2011His peak occurred at 26? Rather soon, don't you think? Conveniently, escaping the peaks of his rivals?
Federer was born on 8 August 1981, so he was age 29-30 in 2011.Age 28 - 2011
Yeah- Fred shoulda chosen a different birthday! What a klown.Age 28 - 2011
my mistake was writing 2011 instead of 2009 - what a klown.Federer was born on 8 August 1981, so he was age 29-30 in 2011
Lord. Tennis didn’t start in 2011.His peak occurred at 26? Rather soon, don't you think? Conveniently, escaping the peaks of his rivals?
