Have a hunch about the inspiration for the majority of you fine folks.

But let's just get a definitive answer once and for all, eh?

Kindly vote, and set the record straight! (y)

P.S. Intrepid redditors arrived at some rather eye-opening results to a very similar question. Decent sample size, too!

I was new to tennis, so I wanted to learn as much as I could, without actually playing tennis. I’ve been playing 6 years now; still as ****ty as I was then.

So I could proudly wear the Nadal vamos logo avatar, until it was taken from me.
Avatar theft is no joke.

A true scourge in 2019, if we're completely honest about the facts.

And the pain is real.

The hope is that one day cruel folks will come to grips with the hard reality that there are consequences for clobbering kindly folks directly in the feels.

It was the first tennis forum. I think ronaldo and maybe dedans outhouse have been here longer.

To put it in perspective, the avg age of murray/nadal fan is 14. Been here longer than they have been alive :p

Mens Tennis Forums may have predated TW's TennisTalk (circa 2004), I think. Web Archive show snapshots of MTF going back to 2003. But I'm fairly certain MTF went back to 2000, possibly earlier.

I didnt post over there very much back then and didnt register and post as SA on TT until 2006. But I believe that I had been looking on as GregR or GregR999 on TT prior to 2006.

@BreakPoint was a lengedary poster who joined in 2004. He was the forum leader for quite a while but stopped posting on a regular basis a few years ago. Since that time @stringertom and 3 others have exceeded his post count. One of those is @sureshs who joined the year before I started posting.

My one wish is that I had joined by 2006 so I could have seen early Sabooshs like “Should fedr retire?”in 2007, followed less than a year later in early early 2008 by the equally visionary “Should Nadal retire?”. Of course, his “Cincinnati-The Real Slam” in 2009 transcends both of those EAF threads!

Don't know about prior to 2002. Perhaps it was BBS in early 2000 or earlier. If you employ the WaybackMachine (web.archive.org), you can see an early snapshot of MTF (Mens Tennis Forums) from 2003.

Nary a day goes by without me coming across an incomprehensible rambling post by G-String Tom, causing me to dust off and scour through my Bahasa-English dictionary, only to find that yet again the whole post was created by accident when T-String fell asleep at his keyboard late at night at 7 pm and rolled his face on his keyboard.
