Why do beach volleyball players wear sunglasses but not tennis players?

I‘m not sure I‘ve ever seen a beach volleyball player without sunglasses. At least when there‘s sunny weather, they always wear their glasses.

In tennis on the other hand, it’s completely unusual to wear sunglasses. You practically never see it.

Why?

There is a lot more glare off sand in beach volleyball as well.

BV players are more interested in looking cool than playing well.
Sand possibly glitters and that could be annoying without sunglasses.

I do it because volleyball is a lot bigger than a tennis ball, and I spend a lot of time looking directly up into the sun in volleyball. Not so much in tennis.

Why do female beach volleyball players wear small bikinis but not female tennis players?

Because many female tennis players are straight up fat. Sad!
