Why do so many Asian players play 2H on both sides?

Many of the Chinese and Japanese women like Yan Zi, Shuai Peng, Akiko Morigami, and Aiko Nakamura play with two hands on both sides- is there a specific reason for this? Is it just because they started really young and couldn't handle one handed strokes or do some coaches in China and Japan promote this style of play? Was Monica Seles a bigger influence there than here or what? Also I've seen Asian women playing that way at my local tennis club. I like any unorthodox style of play and i was just wondering how it came about that so many of the female Asian players happen to play that way.

i hear aiko nakamura serves righty but plays double handed lefty. now thats weird. she says that shes influenced by seles. the others im not too sure, but the asians believes in consistency, could be the reason for the two hands.

You would think that it would put you at a disadvantage. I mean, you can't reach as far with two hands. I guess it might make up for that in stability though...

But you know white girls are the best
Playin' double 2 handers all the time
You think I was going to rhyme time with crime, but no dime.
