Why do some rank Djokovic ahead of Federer at Australian Open

Because he had tougher competition and has managed to win the event 3 consecutive times, not to mention he hasn't lost at the event since he hit his prime in 2011.

He's 2-0 against Federer there aswell.

He is 2-1 vs Federer there in fact, although the loss was as the #15 seed so doesnt really mean much.
Essentially he has picked off an aging Federer since then. Only once since that loss has he met Federer when he was close to his peak and still in his prime, and that was in 2008. Federer was sick, they were playing on a new surface and he still pushed Djokovic in the 3 tight sets.

By 2011, Federer was still relatively close to his prime, and could still show a consistently high level but he was not once he was before. Djokovic won again, in 3 tight sets that could have gone either way had the momentum flown in the opposite direction.

Peak Fed must be really lucky that Agassi was 34 and 35 in those USO matches then. Imagine what peak Agassi would've done to him lol.

Age is always an excuse, I was at that match live and it wasn't Fed's age that cost him it was his tactics.

Fed was older in their RG and USO meetings and he almost beat Novak twice.

Fed can't possibly be AO goat, he has never won a significant battle at AO. He lost to Safin, lost to Nadal twice and lost to Novak twice. He was at least #3 in any of those encounters if not ranked higher.

Fed's AO title wins consisted of easier draws and weaker final opponents than what Novak had to face. Fed from AO11 was the in form player on the tour at the time, he had a 15 match winning streak heading in to that SF and would've won the title had it not been for Novak. Safe to say Fed AO11 was tougher than anyone in the AO04 draw that Fed had to face.

Nadal and Murray in AO12 FAR tougher than anyone Fed faced to win his titles.

If Fed isn't an AO goat because you believe in weak competition(which is subjective) then Nadal isn't a clay goat either since the clay competition is even worse than hard court.

Fed and Novak on clay > whatever Fed faced from 04-07 on HC except for maybe Safin in AO05 that's it.

Also, Rafa was beating Coria in bo5 on clay when he was a teen, he beat Moya, he beat Ferrero, he's beating Ferrer. Tell me who would beat Rafa at RG? Go ahead, only person to have done it is Soderling. Who else in history would've beat Rafa at RG? Maybe Borg and that's it, but even that you can't compare because Borg and Rafa play with completely different technology.

Roger's AO record is nowhere near Rafa's RG record.

I can tell you heaps of players that would beat Fed at AO. Three of which make up the current top 3 in the rankings.

Also, please remind me of the grass Gods that Federer was beating to win his WIM titles

His biggest challenge at Wimbledon from 04-07 was a clay courter...

Some of that has merit but the bolded part is atleast partly wrong. While prime Djokovic and prime Nadal would certainly be threats to prime Federer at the Australian Open, prime Murray would be absolutely no threat. I like Murray alot but the fact he didnt beat Federer in a major until 2012, and even then took 5 sets eliminates him as a possible threat to prime Federer at any slam. He would be a threat to prime Federer in best of 3s probably, but not at best of 5s.

check the news

2014 AO Federer is seeded #2 in the ladies draw right after Serena. It is hoped this will allow him to display his beautiful style of aggressive tennis and even win some matches.

If you're going to claim weak competition then you must do the same for Nadal since both players face the same field since 2005. There's no way of getting around that except if you're biased by playing the double standard. Plus, it's generally accepted by fans that the playing fields are more adept at playing on hard court than on clay. It's takes more skills, more difficult to win on hard court than on clay. So if you're going to chastise Federer achievement at the AO then it makes Nadal look even worse.

Nadal's records are so far above everyone elses on clay his competition is now irrelevant. Competition only matters if achievements are atleast somewhat close.
