Actually, Bouchard is superficially hot i.e. when you examine her better she is rather unattractive.
As far as Kenin, she does have a decent body. But that isn't enough for huge media hype of course. Not every Russian can be a Sharapova. Serena of course gets coverage coz she beats everyone, and because it's PC to support her.
CoCo is a 15 year old teenager period. Don't try and make her an adult or say that she has an adult body when she does not.

We've been paying attention to Kenin this past year and saw her play in Cincy. What sets her apart from other players is the fire in her belly. I see that in Andreescu as well. I was hoping that Ash Barty was developing more of it because she seemed feistier in this tournament, but nerves got to her. I miss that combo of belly fire and mental toughness to back it up in women's tennis. Evert, Graf, Seles pre-stabbing, Navratilova all had it. Serena had it for awhile and now it has abandoned her. Will be interesting to see if Kenin and Andreescu can maintain it in the face of media pressure and expectations nowadays.

Serena's physique certainly does appeal to a lot of men, whether they like to admit it or not. Kenin is like "skinny fat" physique, with no curves whatsoever. Serena, without all of the plastic surgery and despite not really being very good looking, is still considerably better looking than Kenin.
She's the most successful player, almost ever, which also helps. She also had a presence, right from the get go, which Kenin doesn't have.
I'm just stating facts. I would much rather see Kenin win than Serena Williams!

I think Kenin looks pretty good! I liked the Fila outfits too! Not so spoiled in tennis when it comes to stunners ala model looking. In WTA it’s not many considering. In other sports there are more! Skiing for example, men and women.

Neither has Boulter or Giorgi. But they are attractive. Kenin isn't attractive and her physique is "skinny fat". Pretty shocking for a pro athlete, I think. I can't get over how many women are in that kind of shape despite being a professional athlete. It's literally their job.
Kenin has just won the Australian Open. Imagine how much better she would be if she was physically where she could be.

lol there's no way in hell I'd ever touch Serena. Maybe just to say I did because she's globally known, but if she wasn't famous, you'd have to pay me good money to get behind her. It's a shame really because she looked so much better before all the plastic surgery and whatever exogenous hormones that made her gain 30 pounds over the years. I'm shocked that you find Kenin that repulsive. She's just an average girl. Maybe even slightly cuter than average. Her fiery attitude really makes me root for her, and the little outbursts of emotion after holding serve in the final were hilarious.

Yes, Seles, Capriati, Hingis, Austin are unreal. Especially Seles with her 8 teenage-slams.
Gauff is amazing to me bc her level of tennis and athleticism at 15yo is very high. That doesn't meant she'll be as great as teenage Seles, Capriati, Hingis, Austin though. Those are separate points.

My point initially was, if Serena is marketable Kenin is too.Kenins family from what I understood started w less than Serenas, so their background isn’t that different.
Zverevs parents are both Russian, but he says he feels 100% German and Europeans sees him as German. Europe doesn’t have an easier relationship to Russia compared to Russia and USA. Zverev is signing luxury brands. Tsitsipas is half Russian and he is now the youngest Rolex ambassador in history.
Nike is sponsoring all the Russian male youngsters. I think she is marketable! If not Nike signs here, maybe Adidas? They seem to catch the best players on the men’s side.

No disrespect to you, mate. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. But I think that is a ludicrous statement. They are completely different, worlds apart in so many ways.
And Nike has dominated the African American market for decades. There's a tonne of academic literature on the latter, which is an interesting read, if you can be bothered. This partnership has only benefitted both parties hugely for 15+ years.

I agree with bout Bouch but Kenin has no way anything near a good body its balance is Butch

her bladder sticks out more than her chest all the bulges are in the wrong places.
Her arms are so short they come up to her waist and her face is like first stages of rabies.

me she could beat a red hot Halep by using her pace then fall apart at new opponents.

Also her BH has such little extension its so cramped. Totally amazing she gets so far.

Nike has sponsored Fed and Rafa, Sharapova, Phelps etc too. So it’s not like they only sponsor people of colour.
She got a lot of hype with one of my non tennis friend. He called her skirt an over sized belt.
It seems skirts are getting shorter all the time. They could just skip them soon and do away with all pretenses.
It's all for sponsor purposes.

Lets face it, she plays an ugly boring game, has an unlikeable horrible personality, is a huge whiner on court with an even worse attitude than Simona Halep which is saying something. Her successes also come not from her own tennis but form other players badly underperforming, like her frankly lame Australian Open title which only came through a cupcake draw, beating a 10% Barty and maybe a 40% Muguruza. She will NEVER be popular even in the U.S, even if in some fantasy never happen scenario she won 5 or 6 majors in a row. And it isn't reverse racism or bias, it is for some very obvious reasons, she just isn't likeable or fun to watch period. There is absolutely no reason to like or celebrate her, and thus she won't be. Someone like Gauff winning the Australian Open would have been about 30 times better for American tennis.

She beat Barty (no 1), Mugu (multi-slam-champ, former no 1), and Gauff.
There have been FAR easier slam wins in recent years on the WTA to pick this one as a joke draw.

As for comparing Kenin to a demon, I would never do that, demons are far more likeable and charismatic. Probably have more fans than Kenin too.

Well Muguruza played like an unseeded tennis player in the final, thus it fits in this case. Of course she didn't play like an unseeded player all tournament, only in the final, but that only benefitted Kenin hugely. For instance if Muguruza had played the exact same way in the semis vs Halep as she did in the final vs Kenin what now happens? Obviously Halep now wins her semi final 6-2, 6-0 and goes on to destroy Kenin in the final. So Muguruza playing like an unseeded player for the final itself, but much better than an unseeded player for some other matches, particularly the semis, only benefitted Kenin that much, so you really have no point.

Gosh, Kenin is taking a battering in some posts. Personally, I'm glad she won because she may build on this success. Muguruza rocks up rarely to play a good tournament- in fairness, she normally capitalises on reaching a major final. But she's so in and out that there is a chance Kenin might be more consistent and challenge for titles on a regular basis.
