Why doesn't Nadal hit a one-handed right handed forehand as well?

alright, the "natural" writing hand then. i.e. free of artificial forces like crazy parents. as far as we have read / seen / heard, nadal's natural writing hand is and has always been the right hand.

Its actually quite common in English culture.

Someone who is Spanish could better comment on its prevalence in Spain.

Return of serve would be an absolute nightmare.

Well in our leagues the left forehand has helped a ton on those wide "backhand" serves out wide on the ad court. I hold the racquet with both hands on the bottom and go right or left depending where the serve goes. I still have a decent slice backhand and use that occasionally.

Good point. It would be interesting if a player fluently changes his hand, he will also be able to change it fast enough to return serve. That will be a real challenge.

Getting better and better at it.

Good on you. Let us know how you progress with that.

Loving it so far. I'm planning on getting a basic ball machine (sports cube) and dialing on my strokes including my left hand forehand.

Right now the left hand forehand is a good reliable stroke. FAR better than my 2 hand backhand. Still need to work on it to get more speed and topspin but I'm sticking with this.

The few tennis buddies don't even notice when I hit the LHS forehand. Which is a good thing

Hope it works for you.
My rightie forehand is much better than my lefty forehand, stronger, more spin, more consistent, with less than 1/20th the practice time.
A couple of Open level players hit lefty forehands, but both slice rightie side in match play on the backhand side.
But, I find, for me to play good match tennis, I have to vary the spin and speed of my shots, so the opponent has to deal with more than a hitting machine.
But that's just me, a lower level 4.0.
Variety doesn't seem to bother the top pros. I'll never get there.

Thanks LeeD!

It seems to work for me so far. I was getting incredibly frustrated with my backhand flat and topspin strokes hence the radical move.

It probably wouldn't work for most but I'm happy so far.

Cheers
