Why doesn't the Wimbledon youtube channel post highlights?

During the Australian and French Opens, I was able to watch highlights each day of matches on their youtube channels. Even if they only showed a handful of points - usually the setpoints and match points - it was still nice to see.

The Wimbledon youtube channel in contrast seems to be going out of its way to have a total blackout on highlights. I understand that the BBC has videos on iPlayer that is only accessible to UK residents, but I don't see the harm in posting a few highlights - a minute or two of each match perhaps - on the Wimbledon youtube channel. Why not?

(And if there is somewhere to go to find highlights that I am missing, please let me know)

They pick and choose one or two matches though. I think OP is annoyed that they aren't highlighting all matches.

Thanks, th
In what country are you watching? Getting highlights on the Wimbledon YouTube channel in my corner of the planet (West coast US).

Highlights & Match Clips

Thanks, I do see that video, but it's the only match highlight posted in the past 24 hours (East coast US).

That playlist is interesting, but most of the videos don't play ("The uploader has not made this video available in your country.")

Yeah, the offering is rather sparse. Perhaps it’s ESPN who is limiting broadcast by others. Rather annoying. I had signed up for Tennis Channel Plus (no cable or satellite required) to watch FO matches but was disappointed that they have almost no Wimbledon content (thus far).

I broke down and added ESPN to my Sling TV package (for an extra $15/month over the $25/month that I had been paying). But then discovered that a lot of the content I wanted to watch is only available on ESPN+

ESPN+ is free for 7 days and $5/month after that. But I think that you might first need to have access to ESPN before you can get ESPN+

Australian Open is the best slam. They aren't so shabby with vids, they are quite generous with highlights and allow most fan vids to stand.

So happy to see this thread! I also found "The uploader has not made this video available in your country." YouTube error message troubling and reached out to Wimbledon/AELTC for answers (I initially thought it was a glitch since all their YouTube videos excluding match highlights played without incident).

I was told via email that highlights on YouTube are geo-blocked in the US due to the relationship with ESPN.

They also stated it had been this way for a number of years, but I don't recall having this issue last year. Does anyone else recall this happening last year?

What stinks is that at the time of this posting ESPN has uploaded 7 Wimbledon videos total to their YouTube channel. Appalling!

Due to the time difference between California and Wimbledon, along with my work schedule, match highlights are a great way to get caught up on the day's action and the lack of easy access to this content in the US is ridiculous and not good for the sport.

I know, it's crazy. Even the NFL post match highlights immediately after each game... and FIFA World Cup.
