Why Ezone 100 for Casper Ruud?

Are there any other frames that naturally run longer then what they are advertised at? I’m curious now about a DR. Could be a fun pick up. Or is that just manufacturer variance

Interesting, some people indeed reported lengths closer to 69cm which would be slightly longer than 27 inches.

Also sounds like Yonex eventually addressed this issue, as later batches were on spec.

In my case none of the ones I had were over 27 inches. And plus models I measured were right on spec too. Go figure.

Just compared mine and yes they are just so longer than just about every 27 inch frames I have. I have about 20 different racquets from different brands and the DR98 is the only one that stand out it seems. It is shorter than extended 27.5 inch frames so somewhere in the middle

5 mm is too much of a variance. Seems like it’s just a quirky ‘mistake’ by Yonex. I have a blue one, my friend has a yellow one and a blue DR98L (285 g), all 3 are roughly 27.2 inches long. Also be aware that the grip runs big - I had to use a 1.2 mm replacement grip to get it close to my normal grip size #2.

I think this a common misconception. Yonex grips don't "run big", but they do "feel bigger" because their foam pallets are larger and the OEM base grips are thinner to compensate. There is less compression, so it gives the impression it's larger.

If you look at the measurements, you can see that, yes, the Yonex base grip is 0.4mm x 0.5mm larger than both Wilson & Babolat. But, Wilson & Babolat have base grips that are slightly thicker (1.7-1.8mm), while the Yonex is ~ 1.5mm thick. When you adjust for the thickness difference, the circumference is almost identical.

As far as I understood, he is playing the DR98 now. Isn't the 98 much flexier than the 100 or is he likely having a custom pro stock layup anyways (which might have similir flex in that case)?

Its most likely his pro stock rather than retail so the same

If you use the same layup in a different mold, it will flex differently. It's pretty obvious that the same materials in a thinner frame will feel softer
