Why Has Lotto Brand Disappeared in US?

Lotto gets ton of TV exposure at pro events and they obviously produce quality shoes and apparel. I was searching for a close-up of their polos to confirm whether they are sporting a printed dot pattern or if they are meshed across the chest. Couldn't find them at any of the online big boxes. Had to go to T-W Europe for a listing. What gives? Is this a permanent US abandonment? The brand was ATP-linked as recently as mid-'00s.

Would like to hear any input from knowledgable sources. BTW, they are printed dots. Guessed they learned from large misplaced holes on Hrbaty's shirts that built-in A/C is not preferred.

Hey TW US now has Lotto up for sale. Figures since I had purchased mine from a London online store. At least I have been wearing my new Lotto stuff for the last six weeks.

Also see TW is now offering the new K Swiss color line (purple) here in the US. I had broke down and got mine from TW Eorope. The purple board short a has gotten everyone's attention to say the least

Thanks For Update!

Checked out the site and it's up again but pretty thin in offerings...none of the "dotted" shirts Ferrer is wearing yet AND no shoes at all. It's only been a couple of years since they were TV promoing their shoes like crazy. Good products too! Oh well, just seems odd how they are so far off the radar screen so quickly.

Hey Stringer, if you check TW again they now have the new "dotted" shirts in now.

eidolon, go for it. The shirt has a nice fit and is a great attention getter. Also btw did you take your name from the band or from the original meaning of the name?

Lotto disappeared from the U.S. market because their shoes are terrible. I've tried a couple of pairs of Lotto shoes and they were not anywhere near as good as the competition (e.g., Nike, Adidas, Prince, etc.). Support and cushioning were really lacking. Diadora shoes in recent years have also been terrible (they used to be good decades ago). I guess that's why they've also disappeared from the U.S. market. It seems like the Italian shoes are designed to be comfortable but not for actually playing tennis in.

I use to exclusively wear Lotto Futura Speed (Made in Italy) from 1995-2000. They were awesome. Had good durability and had kevlar sewn in the toe under the leather.

Add Fila to that list. Their shoes are cheap. High on style but low on performance, durability, cushioning. I still like their clothes though...

goober's right. Fila and Lott both look good, but the pairs I've tried where true nothingburgers.

But with tennis apparel, both Fila and Lotto have good style.

I disagree, respectfully. The Lotto Syn-Raptor XTREME was, far and away, the best shoe I ever used. Would love to find some more of those is size 11, but alas.....
Anxiously awaiting the 2011 Raptor Ultra II. No clue on the fit, though.
The 2009 Syn-Raptor XTREME was wide in the toebox, but the 2010 Raptor was narrow. Hoping the 2011 is wide.
